Minachello fullback of the year, please

Brett Hodgon, Wade mckinnon excelled week in week in struggling teams

Hunt, Bowen and Slater were also outstanding all year along with Hornby.

Does anyone seriously think Minichello was the outstanding fullback this season??

Timmins at lock??

What about Ash Harrison, he carried the Souths team.

im sure a lot of people think that he has been. just because he didnt have as good a season as 2003 doesnt mean he wasnt one of the best fullbacks this year. any of those who won the award would have sufficed.

Agree Hodgson should have been fullback of the year

Now onto Timmins - can anyone actually tell me what this guy does?
He must be the most over-rated player in the game at the moment

Hogdson should have got fullback, with Hornby a close second

Timmins was easily the best lock. Light years ahead of everyone else. if there had to be a second place, it'll be Harrison

i would have gone with hodgson also.

i can't help but think the fullback of the year award was won on reputation, rather than performance. regardless, mini had a great year.

Minichiello deserved to be fullback.
But Timmins was behind Waterhouse, Harrison, Ricketson, Grimaldi and Sattler in my book.

Then your book should be banned and burnt.
Harrison carried souths alright, how far did he carry them?

Based on the criteria and system used in dally m's, i'ts no surprise Timmins won, he earned the points awarded to him through individual brilliance, his ability to break the line, offload (not often, but never at stupid times) run angles and carry defenders over the line for often crucial try's.

Both Timmins and Waterhouse were deserving of this award and congratulations.

Its amazing how Roosters fans are being crucified for whinging abouit Finch not winning the DM Mdal yet some of you are doing exactly the same here with Minichiello. Shoes on the other foot here isnt it? I mean we were the minor Premiers so we had to win atleast one award associated with club footy!

I think timmins had a good year. I think also however he won because no locks really had an outstanding year - and he played well at rep level! If harrison played in a team that captured the spotlight a bit more who knows!

I think their were eaily some better fullbacks in the competition, however most of them had their patches during the year where as minni is the consistanat choice.

Timmins is a bit of a dodgey call where I would have gone for people like Ricketson, Sattler or Carlaw players who play most of the games and always produce.

How does someone being selected for something that happened at the start of the year automatically qualify him to be worthy of an award that is based purely on the performances from this year? haha I used to think you could at least raise some descent points, but you are just deadset stupid sometimes

There is no way Ashley Harrison wasnt the best lock forward by a country mile this year, every game his brilliant work rate and talent is on show, on the other hand Timmins plays occasionally and even more occassionally does something. Geez he is an over rated hack.

Pull out the rag doll line - that's f**king pathetic.

Minichiello is a top fullback, one of the best, but Hodgson had a better year than him this season. So did Bowen. It's not hard to work out.

Even under the points structure of the Dally M's I found it unbelievable that Minichello got the nod in front of the other noms this year.

Not only was his form scrathy at best, he also had to share points with Finch,Cross and other better performing Roosters this year. Plus he missed a couple of games due to origin and I am of the opinion that he even played one or two gamews earlier in the year on the wing

Can anyone confirm or deny this??

IMO Hodgo was the Tigers best this year and should have stood out and recieved many points.

The Dally M awards are very miss-leading at times because sides that win the most of course will end up with the most votes.

Hodgo deserved to win it but really did he = to getting the most points for us during the season when we won or when we lost ????

For mind Prince got the most points over all for the club because he was the halfback and the one who really was the difference in most games

No doubting Hodgo was the Wests Tigers best player all year because he was however the simple fact is he really didn't do things that where the difference in games etc hence why he didn't get more points than Mini.

The system at times is unfair but Mini does come from this years best side (during rounds 1-26 at least) and well of course he will have a better chance at winning more points because the Roosters don't rely on 1 player to win a match unlike us Tigers :(
