And in 56 or so years dopey Penrith has what 3 Titles? Like Melbourne Penriuth will soon hit the cliff going down.. Its just a matter of time. They will do themselves in as Alexander and Geyer Izzard et al did in the early 90s. Its in their Westie mentality.
Have you seen Penriths lower grade success over the weekend? They've won it all, 3 GF wins and a spot in first grade as well. They're set up for systematic success from local juniors for years.

Sorry for my absence.

I just couldn't bring myself to jump on here and post after the game I was that gutted. Same thing yesterday.

I think if we just got outclassed right from the start, it would still really hurt, but I'd be able to cop it and just be proud of the Season we've had. But to have the first 37 minutes we did and end up like we did just rips my heart right out of my chest. Really hurts and cuts deep.

I've honestly never seen us play so well against Penrith in recent times as we did in that period. Insanely physical, completely dominating them in all areas of the game and we were bashing them into submission. The Panthers had no answers to what we were doing, and the boys were just all over them. I've just about never seen our team more emotional, focused and determined. Not only that, but we were getting the calls and luck was going our way for once. I kind of couldn't believe what I was watching. This made me believe, and I mean REALLY believe. I was convinced we wouldn't lose the game from there when you consider the way we were playing, and I was convinced we'd do on to achieve the dream.

Well, how wrong was I? That dream turned into a nightmare in the space of three minutes, and I knew at halftime the game was done. It was stunned silence in our house during the break. That To'o try broke the spirit and rattled the boys, we never recovered.

Of course, we should have kept it up after a 12-0 lead, of course we should have played it safe late in the half to take the lead into halftime, of course Latrell and Cook didn't deliver in a big game. You can make all the excuses you want but for me, there are no excuses. We lost, we're not going to the GF, simple as that.

Look, I am proud of our Season. Perhaps, never been prouder. No one, including our own fans, expected us to get that far. Everyone wrote us off. This was meant to be a transition year and yet, we almost won the bloody thing. What's more, how much adversity and bad luck did we face during the year? It was a ridiculous amount it feels like. And yet, look at what we achieved. It's a remarkable feat, it really is. But that's South Sydney, that's what our club is built on. Win or lose, there's no club like ours.

Because of this, I think I will get over this loss quicker than previous years but at the same time to lead like we did and still lose just kills me and I'm still hurting. Gives me flashbacks to 2013. Just gutted, shattered, empty. But we'll be right, we always are.

Come back once you’ve won 21 titles jog on champ!

I do have a question though.

Imagine your name was Jason, but you preferred calling yourself Brett?

Everyone else knows you're Jason, and refers to you as such. Only you call yourself Brett.

That's what the 'prod of the loig' tag is. A self indulgent fantasy that only exists in the confines of your mind....

Listen,who the hell are you?
What gives you the right to suddenly appear out of the closet and attack our bother?
May i suggest,no!! Demand you f**k off and crawl back under were u live.
Rabbs20 is a highly valued part of our brethren and we all dont need your vitriol
I'm a nobody on the internet who is a fan of the wooden spooners. If you and your 'brethren' can't cope with a bit of sledging going back your way then I would suggest that league unlimited is not a safe space for you.

To have people in your face after a game is not a good thing to happen to anybody, no one likes losing and it's important to be a gracious winner.

Agree mate and I don’t get in the face of other opposition fans at games on the way out

Latrell Mitchell secret injury reveal: Rabbitohs star’s poor performance against Penrith explained | Daily Telegraph

Latrell Mitchell’s poor performance against the Penrith Panthers can now be explained - he needed painkilling injections before the game and at halftime on a rib cartilage injury.
The Rabbitohs kept it quiet in the build up to the game knowing how heavily targeted he would be against the Panthers.

The Daily Telegraph can reveal Mitchell was one of three Souths players who needed painkilling injections before the game and at halftime, with the others being Campbell Graham (broken ribs) and Jai Arrow (groin).

South Sydney chief executive Blake Solly has confirmed the injury difficulties the Rabbitohs played with.

“The players were extremely brave on Saturday night, just as they have been over the last two months. Campbell ), Latrell and Jai all carried injuries into the game, and the team showed a lot of character to play so well given the injuries and players unavailable. I hope our fans and Members are as proud of the players and coaching staff as we are today.”
