Franze out weakens the side a tad - but still a fantastic young side.
That forward pack and bench could really line up for firstgrade - it is very young, but guys like Steel, Hunt, Sorrenson, Laban and Natusch have been fantastic.

We are running second and are playing second last Lions.

The doggies are only one point in front of us and are on a bit of a losing streak and playing 4th placed Saints - so it is very possible we could jump to the top of the table this week. A fantastic result for the young guys.
Scotty is the star of the show. He is behind a dominant pack and is revelling in it.

Great to see Seage back. Interesting to see if Johnson is doing alright or if he's been given some time to settle in.

If the team were an orchestra, Johnson was playing Chopin while Scotty was conducting the rest in Beethoven last week - and he was rubbish under the high ball.
Having said that - he is Paterson tall and athletic etc.
He needs to form some combinations, but has plenty to offer.

Well i haven't been following the Premier League team this year, but my god they are doing very well. This game could very much push them towards a minor premiership which will be an outstanding achievement given the amount of injuries that have occured this year and the constant need to grab players from Premier League.

Karl Johnson aye. Didnt even know he left Cowboys.

Is Kurt Sorensen any good? He's an islander yeah?
He is whiter than snow, was born in England and brought up in Australia - but apparently is seen as an islander somehow - and he has been ordinary up til recently, but you can see his 'pedigree' coming out now. Bloody hard bastard for long minutes - just like his dad.

article from this weeks big league

Dureau hero for Knights
NEWCASTLE have leapfrogged their way back into second spot on the Premier League ladder, with their eyes firmly set on the minor premiership.
The Bulldogs have faltered to their second-straight loss and are now just a point ahead of the in-form Knights.
Penrith lost their top-two spot, going down to St George Illawarra 28-18.
Newcastle however, maintained their composure to topple Newtown 19-18. A field goal to halfback Scott Dureau sealed victory for the Knights, who are clearly benefiting from the flow-on-effect of their star Jersey Flegg team last year. Captain Riley Brown and centre Paul Franze both showed their experience and class to post tries and lead the Knights to victory.
For last year’s runners-up Newtown, it will now be a tough battle for them to quality for the top eight.
The Jets led 12-0 at half-time and were never headed until Dureau’s 45 metre monster field goal with just four minutes left on the clock put the Knights in front. The heartbreaking loss brought back memories of how they lost last year’s grand final – Parramatta kicked a field goal in golden point extra time.
Returning to his favoured position of hooker, George Ndaira was far and away Newtown’s best and is pushing hard for first grade selection.
St George Illawarra continued their solid finish to the season, by conquering the high-flying Panthers.
Second-rower and captain Ryan Powell scored twice for the Dragons, leading them to victory over the competition dark-horses.
Former NRL player Ronald Prince has made a comeback to grade football this year, and is in good form, also scoring a try.
Meanwhile, Balmain Ryde made their top-four intentions clear in their impressive victory over the competition leading Bulldogs.
Hooker Lewis Brown scored twice for the Tigers, while centre Ben Jeffery showed he is more than capable of adding further first grade games to his tally if given the chance.

Your # 7 (durae) scored a good runaway try earlier, and Gorden (5) just scored off a well placed chip kick

half time.
bloody good game. you certainly have some young talented players coming through the ranks and a good few of them have "Made in NZ" stamped on them.

Lions went to sleep midway through the half and it looked like the Knights would go on with it, till hohaia's try, which seemed to wake them up.

2nd half should be good.
