we will never know, but the broncos would have been right up there in 1997.

Without Tallis and Mundine and whoever else they pinched for SL?

BTW, Simon, you should get a special halfprice discount on your Foxtel subscription, given that you only watch the first 40 minutes of a match!

BTW, are you still celebrating Balmain's 12-2 win in the '89 grand final?

Mod league games go for 40 mins. Then again, mentally, you are in the under 11's!

mundine left at the end of 1997, but Tallis was there in 1998 so i dont know what you are talking about.

I'm talking about the 1997 GF. Had SL not occurred, Tallis and Mundine wouldn't have been Broncos.

misty...lets move on from 1997.
No matter what i write or you write neither will have their opinion swayed as to who would have won in 1997 or 1998.
Waste of time

My thoughs for teams' chances for the premiership;

Dragons - Hot favourites. Dominant in all areas and already playing finals football
Eels - Main rival to Dragons and serious contender
Broncos - Dangerous but looking unlikely. Poor form is ominous for themselves
Tigers - The dark horse of the competition. No one will want to meet them early in the finals and are the bogey side to the Dragons
Cowboys - Have the firepower and game to win, but form is all wrong
Storm - Extremely dangerous on any given day but can't win close games so no chance for premiership
Sharks - Kimmorley lacking confidence and don't have the form or firepower to win. Their fans are kidding themsleves if they think beating Manly means anything
Sea Eagles - Goone! The team every other hopes to meet in the finals.
Bulldogs - Crap this year just like i always said. At least no ones fooling themselves about them anymore.
Penrith - Kidding themselves as usual. You have to actually tackle to win matches

The rest have no chance either.

How can Melbourne make it if they can't win close games? Once they get behind in a game they choke.

You can't make the GF without being able to win close games. Dream on!
