Yeh that's probably the first Saints jumper I bought as a youngster and it's still my favourite to this day. I don't wear it ever, just want to keep it sweet.

I particularly like the shape of the numbers as you can see with that 12 and the white shadow underneath the number. I've got one with number 7 on it.

Best Saints jumper.

I have one at home and my 10yr old wore it once to a game.

Glad she didnt spill fanta or tomato sauce on it!!

Mine is numbered #1 for Mick Potter.

I had one until the morning after the 99 grand final - it went in the bin, I had worn it for 4 finals with no luck. I was so gutted over that result. It still gives me nightmares :? :x

Wore mine of these (bought in '92 @ Peter Wynn's Score) down the main street of Newcastle the day after we beat them 3-2 in the semis, in 92 if I remember correctly!

Mine has # 6 which I'm pretty sure was for Peter Coyne and most certainly not for Tony Smith, but only the white shadow remains.

That jersey looks pristine.

The earliest jersey I have was 1988. It's in pretty good condition, however, I don't wear it now - only because I can't fit in it. I'll pass it on to the kids when they're old enough to appreciate its beauty.

I've got one of Scotty Gourley's actual playing jerseys from 92, and it has the Newmans badges on the sleeves, and I noticed that the jersey on ebay doesn't.

After all of these years of hanging on to it, please don't tell me mine isn't legit?!?!

Yours is more likely to be legit brokendigit - The one on ebay has some question marks on legitimacy.

The collar doesn't look right
The Jerseys in 92 & 93 had the Newmans of Kogarah arm patch sponsorship
If it is pre-92 then the numbers are wrong as they were of a thicker variety

Hard to tell with the Red V in the picture, but it needs to be of the 'silky' variety with 3 rows of stitching.

As a sidelight - have the 92 'blood and bandages' #12 worn by Gourley and the 93 'Ellgren/Wigan' # 11 worn by Barnhill from the Charity Shield games of those years.

Cheers - yep, mine has the stitched silky Red V.
Nice. I wonder what you'd get for the 92 B&B? Can't be too many of that year still around...

Mine is a 93 with the Newmans badge on both left and right upper sleeve.
Like others, most of the red writing has fallen off at various bars and BBQ's around the country.
Superstitious ....... I don't wear it and stopped wearing it when the Dragons play as I also felt it may have been unlucky....
My '08 Christmas version ' has proven to be a lot luckier !!
:D
