Yes, and he's really bad at it.Unfortunately, I assume thats one of his responsibilities as club captain
Mate I follow a few on social media as well and could see most of the ones I follow were away or part of the world cup.I mean, is Hunt wrong? That is one of the most disrespectful things those players could have done. I can understand not judging character based on asking for releases, etc as there is a lot that can be happening behind the scenes and plenty of reasons for that. Having said that, this act is just average. I follow quite a few players on their social media, so I'm aware who can and can't be excused for their no-show. All Samoan, Tongan world cup squad boys plus Ravalawa can be excused. Blake Lawrie, Francis Molo, McCollough can also be excused as they were on holiday.
I'm unsure about the following: Burns, Ramsey, Bird, de Belin, Gos, Ford, Jaiyden Hunt, Reuben, Kerr, McGuire, Max Feagai, Mbye, Fama, Sims, Moga, Fui (although I suspect Bird and de Belin were likely two of the few players spotted at the nearby casino on the same night, but more than happy to be wrong on that). I would also think quite a few of the departing players wouldn't have bothered.
However, I do follow both Sullivan and Sloan, who were in Sydney, and had no reason to not be there. They had a trip to the gold coast a week or two prior to the awards night. So the two golden boys of this forum have shown the utmost disrespect to our beloved club and their fellow teammates. That is a sh*t attitude and there's no way to dance around that. I rate these two guys and hope for the best and hope their futures lie at the Dragons. But for those adamantly protecting them like they're being so horribly mistreated, look no further. We shouldn't be looking to just give them opportunities as if they deserve them. As far as I'm concerned they've got a bit of ground to make up and a bit of rapport to re-establish with not only their peers but the fans. Low act, surely can't argue otherwise. How about showing some respect to the club who they've been with their whole lives, who have spent time on their development and are paying for them to live their lifestyles they now live when they so often speak about their rough upbringings.
Maybe it was the other way around the club didn't want anyone there ......Mate I follow a few on social media as well and could see most of the ones I follow were away or part of the world cup.
For me, the scheduling of the event seemed a bit odd given the clash of agendas.
Going by what has been reported, that could very well be the case!!!!Maybe it was the other way around the club didn't want anyone there ......
100% a message to the club by the players that "we are not on the same page"I think the elephant in the room is that the players really, really dont like Hook and his 'clique' are tarred with the same brush.

Yeh agree not a great look and poor club managementHook played all his mates all year and when it came to the presso night, none turned up and looked like a goose and a coach with no control of his side. If he played juniors, I am sure they would have all turned up and been grateful for the run.
Only 3 including Liddle on Day 1 likely..then the others who are due back Nov 7 (about half) sacked...Sad turn of events. Will they turn up for pre-season?
Dont blame him.Ben should just stop talking to the media.
Reckon you are way off the mark as players are closer than you give them credit for. It's becoming clearer by the day I reckon: he thinks it was disrespectful to him - not to the club! When people feel disrespected they rarely consider it objectively. It usually elicits a knee jerk reaction instead.
Houston, we have a problem! I think we've just paid top dollar to be forced to witness a three year shit fight.
No choice..media would not let go till someone said it. Hunt or the club.Ben Hunt should have only answered questions on how he thinks Australia will go at the World Cup and made no comment about the poor player attendance on the awards night presentation.
Cmon.re Paragraph 1.... he said what the PC answer and what the media wanted to hearHunt says that the guys who didn't turn up at the presentation night function were disrespectful and that he would speak to several of the guys when he comes back from the World Cup series. This could make things worse between those guys and Hunt when they tell him to piss off.
Shouldn't the Coach or CEO or Head of the Board address these issues with the players rather than put that responsibility on Hunt?
This whole affair is a messy one and we are now more in the spotlight as to how poorly this club is run. It just doesn't endear us to getting any decent players and other coaches to join the club.
This drama will go on and if it is not nipped in the bud soon, it will tarnish the club even further. The Board has to do something and get this sorted before Hunt returns.
