I'm glad you asked.

My point was that Kearney has the confidence of the people that matter, including the other members of his staff, but most importantly the confidence of his employers.

If he has full support or confidence of the board, why hasn't the best young coach in the game had his contact extended.

Could they be losing faith in SK????

If they extended SK's contract there would be a fan riot! The Board have been doing well to avoid a fan backlash by keeping the chump for this long - but they couldn't possible keep it up through to their elections in December/April.

I expect the faith the be lost soon - I hope Sid Kelly being quoted while Spags was away is the first sign of things to come...

More like they're responding to fan backlash.

Someone at the club must have known Daniel Mortimer didn't have the physical ability for sustained success, but they listened to the fans and signed him anyway.

That's how democracy f**ks everything. The Greeks are about to go to the polls and vote themselves more money from a bottomless bag of cash. They know how democrcy works - they invented it.

In the same manner, Eels fans will go to the next election and vote themselves a whole bunch of instant success.

My point was none of us know what's going on behind the scenes.
Agreed.

You watch the game, see our players fail to compete and blame the coach.
If it's an individual thing, in the context of the team clearly heading in the right direction, I'll blame the individuals. In the absence of seeing any on field evidence of the consistent positive direction, then I'll blame the coach. It's called logic.

We can't sign contracted players mid-season unless their clubs release them, and our young blokes won't improve without playing first grade football. That means we're stuck with this level of performance until our young blokes become first graders, and we are able to replace the guys who are past it.

Until then what's the point of blaming the coach?
Actually, imo we're only stuck with the continued under-performance of a widening number of players old and new (plus an absence of on-field evidence of consistent positive direction) while we persist with the current coach. That's the point, but you know that Amigo and are simply enjoying being argumentative/devil's advocate.

so you think our board is that weak pou? they just do stuff to bow to the fans? .... i thought you had faith that they know more about situations and hence make informed decisions

We'll see. At the end of the day everyone has to look after himself.

I reckon they should stick to their guns, but I'm not the one who cares if they're still around after the elections. I'm guessing they probably do.

If they couldn't make informed decisions they would never have ended up where they are. Now it's just a case of whether they care more about the long-term future of the club, or their short-term ambitions of staying in power.

I get mine from disgruntled ex-employees of the club and other nuffie wannabes big-noting about their connections.

Where so you get yours from?

Another Stephen Kearney press conference. Groundhog Day. You might as well put a cardboard cut-out up there & replay the audio from a previous PC. It would be just as exciting.

The biggest telling factor from this one was Ben Smith saying "I didn't even know he (GI) was injured". WTF is going on during the game??? I could just see the Storm or Manly not noticing if Hayne was injured...

As previously posted, I am sure SK is a nice guy but the sooner he goes, the sooner we can get out of this quicksand & move forward.

I guess it's the Souths player's fault's we didn't kick in his direction either.

Yeah because what we want is Inglis running the ball at us every chance he can get. He didn't seem to shy away from calling for the ball in attack, so I doubt he would mind too much if we kicked it to him.

and u wanna list all those situations from last night? infact all this year? .... or are you just spinning old man shit?

No, I just watch him with interest. Ruins all his good work with silly errors. Surely you find that frustrating. Keep an eye on his errors in coming games...Just sayin.

40 min: Both teams are back on the field and the Eels kick down to South Sydney to get us back underway
40 min: INFRINGEMENT: Penalty Rabbitohs. Not being let up to play the ball. Eels 2-4 Souths.
41 min: Souths attacking the flanks of the Eels as they gain metres.
43 min: TRY
The Rabbitohs go to the wings again as Sutton passes to Inglis who gives a simple ball to Dylan Farrell who burrows over to score the first try of the second half. Reynolds keeps his record intact.
South Sydney Rabbitohs 18-0

Mate, every man and his dog at the ground could see that Inglis was in a LOT of pain immdiately after and for at least a further 10 minutes. It was f**king dumb not to kick it to him, get down there quickly and smash him. Just f**king dumb. Every other team would do it to Hayne.

I feel that confidence is still our main issue, but doubtless our players lack the vision to exploit obvious frailties in the opposition.

I thought it was very honourable of us not to exploit GI when he was clearly injured. It was very gentlemanly.

Funny cos that's the same sound that Came from a lot of people after the last win....

I wasn't singing Kearney's praises after the win, because I know weekly results have nothing to do with the coach.

Last week our shit squad got lucky. Last night they didn't.
