IMO, NSW should forget about trying to target the QLD backline and focus on the middle third of the field and running plenty of plays at the QLD forwards, Robbie Farah is the perfect linchpin for this attack and with the recent additions of Luke Lewis and Anthony Laffranchi, I think this is NSW's best chance of causing an upset. Plenty of angled runners in the middle of the ruck and try to catch out the QLD forwards tiring, with guys like Farah, Gidley and Jennings, I believe this is their best chance.

agreed. qlds forwards rarely seem to be as dynamic as nsw's forwards and dont always play the big minutes the blues seem to pick. if the blues can tire out the qld pack that will restrict the qld backline. cameron smith doesnt seem to run much from dummy half anymore, but farrah can cause a lot of damage doing that and picking up quick supports like gidley to make plenty of metres

back to the original post, whislt i think petero and price will always lift, selectors need to make sure they dont go "one season too many". there will almost certainly come a time when price and petero arent able to compete with those younger, stronger, faster forwards and selectors will eb amking a big mistake solely picking them on past glories. mind you i dont think we're at that stage yet

This post borders on delusional ... I've never seen Civ 'dominated' yet ...! In fact, you may have noticed that since he joined the Panthers the whole club has lifted ... and until last week had won several games on the trot ... they lost without Civ in the team.

And I've never seen Price 'dominated' either, with the possible exception when he was returning from injury.

To even contemplate two rookie props 'dominating' in their first game against two such champions ... drugs are bad for you.

wat that poor bloke doesnt realise is that in game 1 2007, price and civ made more metres than the entrire pack and bench combined. if he thinks that our props are going to get dominated, then he is the president of fantasy land.

The only prop in the NSW team that comes within cooee of Price and Civ is Bailey. Kite's OK, but his metre-ageis not as consistently high as these guys.

History will remember them well - the warhorses that carried Queensland to four consecutive series wins.
