Thanks.

Lately I have been hooked on FIFA 2005's career mode, I love how simple it is, but still I love it, I am waiting for 2006 to go down to about $60, if anyone sees it for that much, give us a heads up please.

Anyone have anymore info on Career mode, and how much better it is than 2005 ?

EDIT: Well I ended up getting FIFA 2006, and I cant say im too pleased with it :?.

It may be because I was enjoying 2005 so much that I didnt want a change?

I think I might try and return it tomorrow and get something else.
I'd suggest Pro Evolution Soccer 5.

The main reason I wanted to get Fifa 2006 was for career mode, then gameplay, i will play it a bit more to get a better judgement.

If not I will stick with Fifa 2005 which I am enjoying at the moment.

If I still dont like 2006 by Tuesday ill try and return it and try and get a Network adapter or pre order Smackdown 2006.

PS. Does anyone know if JB-HiFi sell Network Adapters ?

Ok ULTRA you sold me on this Pro evo game, i went out and got it yesterday. I have to say being a fifa player for a long time, this is hard to get used to, much harder to score but so realistic.
Having fun with it though, waiting till my skills improve then Ill start the masters league.
Im still gonna try fifa 06, its cheap at JB, gonna give evo a run for a few weeks yet ;)

I might go buy this game today... never played a Pro Evo game before.. well, I played ISS back on the N64, but I still preferred FIFA99.

Obviously things have changed a bit since then though.. although from what I hear FIFA is definitely closing the gap.

I ended up returning FIFA 2006, but after playing it a bit more, it definetly was much better than what I was saying.

Will have to try PES5 out one day.

I've been playing FIFA 2006 a lot lately.. The online play is pretty addictive. I haven't even played the game offline.

I hear Pro Evo 5 suffers from a fair bit of lag online if you have a upload speed less than 256... Mine is 128 (I'm on 512/128)..so maybe it wont be the best.

I bought the game and I've probably only played 15 minutes of it... but from the outset, I can't understand what all the fuss is about. The player models are crap, the commentary and overall presentation as well...and the whole game runs really slowly.

I'll be interested to see how the game grows on me...

i went and got my hands on fifa 06, just my opinion but it sh*ts all over pro evo presentation wise, cant see a hell of a lot of difference in gameplay.
Pro evo's gameplay is excellent but it is presented like a cheap japanese arcade machine in comparison.
Fifa 06's Gameplay is much better than past fifa's imo and the manager mode is more indepth than ever before.
Im not even looking at pro evo anymore, im hooked on fifa 06 for now.

The game has grown on me a bit, but I'm still not sure whether I like it better than FIFA 06.

The physics are a bit different from FIFA though.. when I first played Pro Evo it felt like I was kicking around a coconut.

Don't worry you'll improve. Unlike FIFA where you can run through entire teams, Pro Evo 5 puts the emphasis on breaking the opposition down with passes. When playing it you have to think like you are playing a real game of football. I can't stand FIFA for a number of reasons.
1. The ball physics are crap, the ball behaves like its on ice
2. Free kicks are too easy to score from
3. Gameplay does not reflect real football, and is like pinball

The only positives FIFA has is its licences and presentation. I'd gladly trade them for the infintely greater realism that Pro Evo provides.

You cant run through entire teams in FIFA anymore.. FIFA has come a long way these past few years. They're not that far behind Pro Evo anymore imo. The closer EA gets, the more pressure there will be on Konami as it has to keep improving gameplay to keep the presentation, soundtracks, superior commentary, player and team licenses that FIFA has to offer, at bay.

LOL!

Obviously haven't played FIFA since 99, am I right?

FIFA demands a good football brain... it is near impossible to take on a defence by simply running. In fact it is far more realistic than Pro "through-ball" Evo. Admit it, through balls ALWAYS come off in PES5... and that's BS if you think about it...

In terms of free-kicks, have you tried 06..? Somehow I don't think so...

No, through balls don't always come off. They tend to change the emphasis a little from game to game. I have PES3 and the through balls are hopeless cos the defence tends to hang back.

 Do you play PES on 1 star or something. Blindly through passing will almost always results in the opposition taking possesion.

Yeah, I was faced with the same dilemma.. I ended up getting both... I wanted FIFA06 for it's online play, which I think is better than in PES which lags and doesn't have a lobby or anything.
