No Sh!t. Believe it or not, it wasn't a serious proposal.

Were any of Hock, Mossop or Cooper on contracts beyond this year? Is the lure of Australia greater than the honour of a contract like previous Australian and Kiwis returning early? (Eastwood, Buderus, Orford etc)
Wigan got £250,000 for Hock and Mossop.

That's fair enough. Seems to be mixed views on the apparent 'talent drain' to the NRL. Surprisingly positive from some writers- saying at least they are staying in the game rather than heading to the dark side and effectively ending an international career in league (eastmond for example)

Does Eastmond get a game? do you know how he is going in union?

I don't think there will be as many players going to the NRL as has been touted by media here. I have read suggestions of 60 over the next few years in one article, but that seems ridiculous to be honest.

The developments are looking very positive from the point of view of the England team. A stronger England will mean hopefully more fixtures and I would like to think the Ashes resurrected and locked in for future tours in the old fashion.

Hull FC fans are raving about Ben Crooks after his performance last night against Wigan, Tom Lineham got the tries but apparently it was Crooks who did the lead up work.

Crooks seems talented but I'm not sure he's a future international prospect. He looks more like a Darrell Goulding or Kirk Yeaman than a Kallum Watkins to me.

Liam Sutcliffe has been absolutely killing it for the Rhinos, i think it is five tries in the last few games and created a few others.
Class act.

5 tries, 4 assists and a few other line break assists that have set up tries too for Sutcliffe. He's played 7 games but only started 4.

He looks really good and I honestly had no clue he was 18 when he 1st broke on the scene. He says the game like he's been there for years. His defence lets him down but again, he is 18 and will miss tackles.

BTW, Huddersfield Academy player Joel Farrell (Anthony's son) is playing out here now for Young Cherrypickers.

Joel Farrell is back in the UK and made his debut last night for Bradford Bulls u/19, they got smashed by Hull FC.

Here is a name to put in the black book, Ryan Hampshire.

He is only 18 and hasn't made his SL debut yet but the kid is good, very good.
I wouldn't be surprised if he gets picked in the Wigan squad for the Cup clash v Leigh Centurions.
Did anyone see Rocky Hampshire v Saints ?
A couple of moments of class, I think he is the pick of the Wigan youngsters.

Look out for Adam Lawton, a 6 foot 7inch second row with hands like a stand off, made his debut for Widnes last week v Cas, he's only 20 yrs old, when he puts his weight back on he lost he is goin to be something special. Could play on fri v Wakefield live on sky if hock,Cahill and Allen don't return.

Adam Lawton scored three tries last weekend, he is absolutely huge but pretty mobile for his size.

Adam Lawton does have potential but he needs that killer instinct. At Widnes maybe 12 or 13 years ago we had David Mills who really should have stepped up to becaome a world class player. He had Size , strength, the works, but lack of coaching meant he never made his full potential

We now have far better coaching and I would be hopeful that Adam Lawton could make the grade. Another Widnes lad Anthony Mullalley is quite close to disappearing. Some of these lads think they have made it before they have put in the hard yards.....Lets hope Adam works hard to achieve his ambitions

Too early to say but yesterday Hampshire looked a class above Bowen vs St Helens. Obviously Bowen will be adjusting to moving to the other side of the planet, but Hampshire is showing himself to be too good not to play during preseason. Ditto with Joe Burgess, 6 tries in his 2 warm ups so far.

Yes a lot of pressure on Bowen to perform imo, Hampshire just gets better and better.

Joe Burgess looks Great, yes..............im disappointed that Wigan think Bowen is better than a young English prospect, but having said that Wigan do have a fabulous production line. They were very disappointing last night and lacked some Steel and Grit in the pack, - Blake Green can be fabulous or invisible and last night he vanished behind a well beaten pack
