The 2005 Forum Sevens Possibles v Probables (PVP) tournament is open to all comers, new teams and current teams.
The PVP is effectively a series of trial matches which will begin in late October-early November and end prior to the kick off for season 2006.
The make up of the PVP will be decided after we know how many teams are participating.
The idea behind the PVP is to give teams an opportunity to show that they can field a full team and play at a level where they can eventually compete in the full Forum Sevens competition of 2006.
The PVP also helps newcomers gain a full understanding of the F7s Rules (click here for rules).
In addition, the PVP allows for new referees to gain experience prior to the 2006 season.
Win lose or draw, the PVP teams with the best organisation will be considered when the invitations for the 2006 Forum Sevens competition are issued, early in the New Year.
The aim is have a PVP tournament where each team gets a minimum of two matches.
Winning the PVP is not the main criteria for gaining admission into the 2006 competition, although it obviously helps.
So if you want to try your hand at playing the F7s and have a team together, let us know here in this thread and we'll get the ball rolling.
Cheers.
EDIT UPDATE:
Nominations for the PVP will close Saturday 22 October at midnight.
The draw for the 2005 PVP tournament will be announced Sunday, 23 October with the first matches scheduled to kick off the following weekend on Sunday 30th October.
