They imploded because they are shit at finals footy, same as every other year

No. The truth is Eels are not that good a side. Not in my best top 4

The only reason the Chooks,Storm,Souths are so far down ladder is injuries.
Look at points differential for a better indicator.
It actualy has 8th to 16th all in correct orders.

So the seasons been a little sugar coated and basic flaws ignored.
They finished the season with 3 big wins which convinced everyone they where ready.
Prior to that what had they done in the last few months? Beat a 12 men Panthers side. Flogged Brisbane and Dogs. Struggled against Tigers and Manly.
And beat the Storm without their Halfback.

Dig a little deeper and you'll see they also where smashed by Souths and Brisbane in last 7 weeks.

Cant believe kenny isnt getting a standing ovation... what he did in that first stint was first class...

No it wasnt crafty...

But his line speed and defence and passing was first class. He lacks the x factor but he is as good a defender or better than api. Hes sooo soo fit..he can run it like a prop for a 90kg bloke.

Man he was good tonight.

Havent seen the stats.. im sure its not overly special... but it doesnt show line speed and work ethic..

First class by mitch tonight..well done kenny

Api is a great attacker. But his defense is ordinary

Mistakes happen, you can’t be perfect all of time. We won the game off the back of there mistakes. Dylan’s Knock on was a Clanger but you can’t possibly criticise the bloke for such a mistake given was he has delivered for the team this entire season. It happens. It’s just part of the game.

I just had a quick look at the game stats and everything was pretty even, possession flow was 50/50 but we ran for 1700 odd metres while they could only muster 1300 or so. The difference in the end was the work of To’o, Edwards and Tago whose running metres were exception.

At halftime I think the Eels had run for 200mtrs more then Penrith.

Mate Api is a gun defender, one of the best at hooker I’ve seen in recent times.

Anyway for Parra I was expecting a bit more out of Dyl brown, he’s got such good footwork abd speed but he really didn’t test us last night, feels like he takes to much of a back seat to Moses sometimes.

Yup.
I called it 6 weeks ago that I am not convinced he is a winger cause he can't catch a bomb.
BA is a dope. He doesn't make changes. Storm will go after Blake.
If he had half a brain he brings in Russel or Simmonson.
N.Brown and Carty also.

People say Parra matched them. Maybe we did I am no expert but I just felt it was more Penrith wore them down payinetly and then crushed them.
Saint George have been in heaps of games with 30 mins to go and ended up being flogged. You could say plenty of the bottom 5 sides have. It's quite common.

That one out rubbish by the Eels was pathetic footy if ask me. They never looked likely to score. If it wasn't for dropped balls and some amazing saves Panthers have another 4 tries.

Tour biggest threat is the Chooks now. But I think Souths have a great chance of Knocking them off. They'll then have a tough game most likely in Nth Qld.

I see a Storm vs Panthers GF.

We do that. The longer the game goes the better we get. (Unless we start cruising with the game already won) Our starts since the Origin period have been scratchy. Last night was intense early on. As it should be.
Our execution got better later in the match. To be expected after Cleary's absence. I thought the Eels were brave early on but their attack was not threatening. They wasted opportunities Our defence was awesome though.

I have been calling the Roosters a massive threat for weeks. Manu out is a big blow. Souths upsetting them wouldn't surprise me.
In one respects I would like to see the Roosters knocked out. But I would take great pleasure in seeing Souths out to shut Latrell up!

I’ll join in with the praise for Kenny. I meant to give him a wrap last night. I think I’m on board with the new tactic of starting him.

There isn’t a team in the comp that we can’t grind down. Api gives us more chance of a try or 2 in the first 20, but we really don’t need it. Kenny starting is solid as f**k holding down the middle. The only times Parra got a look at our end was off a penalty or error. Then a fresh Api coming at a tiring pack is demoralising for them. I think it’s a smart play from the coaching staff.

I hope To'o goes back to the left in two weeks with Staines on the right.

Charlie doesn't seem to wander in field as often as To'o is lately.

Now we've seen it twice I'm pretty happy with Kenny for 15 - 20 then Api on. Kenny has no issues defending and although Api can play 80 he keeps a bit of energy for the back end which will be important from here on.

Can't help but laugh with May being suspended. Staines getting a ring will be so sweet.

It was a tough game.

we did very well I thought.

our strength, defence got us there and some Nathan magic.

They could still be there at the business end I’m not writing them off.

I asked this a few weeks ago but what has changed?

It is basically the same team that has gone MIA in big games, same coach, It is even like they are a young team yet to peak
