Auckland RL regularly reconfigure their women's comp. Every year they have to assess the impact of an ongoing exodus across the ditch.

Promising start for Ellie Williamson in the CC group stage. Shown exactly why York brought her over.

At the same time, results like Huddersfield 0 York 56 and York 54 Featherstone 6 illustrate the structural weaknesses of Women's RL in England. Those score-lines are close compared to a few others we've had in the opening two weeks.

Posting here because Ellie played a number of BMD Premiership games in 2023. Just the one NRLW appearance.

Capras 8 Jets 38 seems a significant result.

My impression is that Ipswich female teams in all grades have been underperforming in State comps. Then again, could be Capras have gone rapidly backwards. Early days.

Jets recruited very well. Capras have lost some experience.

Several dummy-half sneak tries in the BMD GF. Coaches seem unable to fix the problem of naive goal-line defence in women's RL. Overreads, pushing out then in, leaving the ruck exposed.

Can't remember the Jack Gibson quote verbatim. Something like "Why use the tradesman's entrance when you can go through the front door"?
