according to Global Rugby League:

The Queensland State of Origin team has been announced for Game I of the series, on Wednesday, May 24 at Telstra Stadium in Sydney.

The team:

Fullback: Matt Bowen
Winger: Greg Inglis
Centre: Justin Hodges
Centre: Brent Tate
Winger: Steve Bell
Five-Eighth: Darren Lockyer (c)
Halfback: Johnathon Thurston

Lock: Dallas Johnson
Second Row: Matthew Scott
Second Row: David Stagg
Prop: Petero Civoniceva
Hooker: Cameron Smith
Prop: Steve Price

Interchange: Shaun Berrigan, Carl Webb, Sam Thaiday, Nate Myles

The team has seven players making their Origin debut, the most since Game I, 2001, when the Maroons featured 10 players making their debut.

GO NATE MYLES!

well I'm happy no prince there just from a Tigers viewpoint.

If they match the NSW forwards unfotunately it is game over IMO.

F..k Bowen at Fullback! What on earth are the selectors on! All the advantage QLD had in that department is thrown out the window! Look for the 5-10 dropped bombs for Bowen! I'd also love to know what the f..k Berrigan has done! Surely someone like Aaron Payne is better!

Interesting team. I like Webb and Thaiday off the bench...they will cause NSW some headaches.
I wonder who Webb's biatch will be this yr with no Bailey.
Berrigan...meh...he can cover dummyhalf and outside backs.

good to see johnson get in too, although bell on the wing is somewhat curious

We have 2 backrowers on the bench! How many do you want SAAB! If he is our backup hooker even though he played well on Saturday its a joke in the highest regard! Payne has been robbed!

Berrigan

Stagg is a useless ball runner and I don't think Johnson is much better so their fowards could struggle. Maybe NSW are in with a chance after all...

.

Webb - pffft

One tackle means nothing

NSW by plenty - that's an ordinary pack, and an ordinary back 5 IMO

Nate Myles? F***

Yet another yawning gap in the Bulldogs team this weekend.

Sigh.

Still: Qld 2 - 1 NSW

I guess a lot will depend on Gower and Anasta - but I think they'll do ok..

Serious weaknesses in the Qld team all over the park
