Surely this can't be. I'm pretty sure Cam's last contract with the Storm was negotiated on the understanding that he wouldn't be playing Origin.

Which contract? Bellamy said it was alright for him to play, not that he has anything to do with that.

Personally I don't think he should play after he dogged us last year.

I want Morgan in the centres and hunt at 7 if cheery Evans is not fit. Would reed Mahoney let us down if selected? Just saw the next cam smith play live. Harry Grant. Can do it all.

Dane Gagai a stand out? 13 tackles and 7 missed tackles. I'm not a fan of Jack Bird but I thought Bird thoroughly outplayed him

I decided to use the NRL.com Fan Vote as a Basic Guide and outside of Latrell Mitchell it was a fairly quiet week for centres with Gagai just missing out on Team of the Week selection. I don't think his defensive stats are a fair indication, Bird may have shrugged out of the initial attempt, but he'd usually succumb to the tackle regardless. I don't recall many instances where Bird straight up beat Gagai.

@Big Pete

There has been some talk about Granville making his debut. Thoughts?

I miss Smith.

I don't actually mind the selection as long as it's in tandem with Hunt. Without Friend there's no obvious choices at 9 and Granville has shown he can perform in the big games.

I feel a bit sorry for Jake Friend he would've slotted straight it in this year.

I personally believe that Mahoney is the best Queensland eligible dummy half but it's highly unlikely that he will be picked.

I can't recall anything Hunt did to stand out at dummy-half, McCullogh and Friend are gone so it will be between Hunt and Granville. I personally don't think much of Granville anymore, he is a shadow of what he was in 2015.

If it's somehow 1-1 and whoever we go with at 9 is unavailable for the decider we might entice Smith back for one game. Other than that I think we need to accept that we're (QLD) aren't winning this series and either and figure out who we've got.
This year we've got to many injuries and we're outclassed in key positions.

Stop looking to the past.

This series is far from over before we start. Gillett is back, Matt Scott running into old form, they may choose cam Murray. He is their future but not yet for me. Get that unnecessary unload out of your game. Imagine a brain explosion late in a tight game.

Gillett is a plus, but Matt Scott is barely running anywhere, let alone into old form. It’s disappointing to watch after begrudgingly admiring him for so long.

Having said that, he’ll probably pull on the Maroon jersey and tear us a new one.

Again, please don’t let Ofahengaue anywhere near an origin jersey. He could lose a series in a mad minute.
