3rd September, 2005 -

me and the girls had been out on the piss all night, went back to Helens car in the Leagues club at about 4am and there were people lining up (we laughed)

Returned the next day and joined the end of the queue down O'Connell St towards Victoria Rd.. (didn't laugh)

Spent 3 hours playing "Eye Spy" with rowdy, someone brought a stereo and we were dancing in the streets. I had a nap in a gutter, before giving up and paying full price from a normal ticket the next day.

funny funny funny day...

and watched Wade get the spare key the for Broncs and let himself in to the groans of the fans watching his stupidity
I also remember being unwell that day... must have been something I ate

On the topic of the two women who entered the dressing rooms, which was the subject of a bit of discussion and denials from Zap and Cronulla - Magnay has a small piece on the back page today which would appear, to cast doubt on those denials - there is a photo which is claimed to be the two women inside the change rooms.

Couldnt find a link at the herald.

F*ck this Jackie girl gives me the sh*ts, go and report a fashion show or something.

That is a very silly and sexist comment. She is a highly respected and awarded journalist. In fact, she has it all over most of the males.
As Fishy said, there seems to be some doubt now about the Sharks denials, with the release of the picture.
If people have been found to be lying, they are not people I would like near our club.

I'm a little confused by this fish, was the denial that they were women in the dressing room or prostitutes?

Both.

Said they werent in the room nor were hookers.

If, and thats if, they've lied about one, who is to say what else they've lied about??

the denials of different aspects were made by the club, zappia and the sex shop dude.

Apparantley worked at a brewery and waited outside the change rooms and never went in, so obviously the photo in the herald is wrong.

Stagger:

Zappia said on last night's Footy Show sex shop owner Con Ange was a supporter of the club who had no financial interest in it. The club said it believed the two women who accompanied Ange to the dressing room were not sex workers but rather "sales reps from an interstate brewery".

In a statement, the club said: "Cronulla players were not offered sex toys to take home. No sex shop owner is a sponsor of the Cronulla Sharks. The two women in question did not enter the dressing rooms of the Cronulla Sharks after the game in question."

not sure whether it was wrong or not, but it's just a bit weird that a photo suddenl appears a week after the denials of Zapp and the club.

Magnay, also mentioned something interesting on the footy show which said that only 1/10th of the story was reported and that things unravelling as they speak i'm expcting big stories to break within the next few weeks, if not, than I think Magnay will need to make some explanations herself.

It's ridiculous the amount of sh*t that they drag up about league, but not other sports. They're like a dog with a bone...they drag a story out as long as they can if it's negative. We had the issue with the same thing in 2006...any minor thing was front page news. I recall a story on the back page about Tim Smith being out drinking at a pub, when he was drinking water  And now this whole Sharks thing....it's just ludicrous

Stop generalising.

I'm assuming Magnay is still verifying all the info she is being fed .... i think the SMH likes to actually "verify" stories before going to print unlike limited news

yeah, and then just because she might think she has the stories, doesnt mean her editors will agree and print them.

well I hope she verifys it because she clearly says that there's much more to the story.

so I'm expecting some big news to break.

Just to check something, I wasn't sure whether she meant there's more to that story, or there's others.

she's also in the business of selling her stories, so I imagine she'll talk it up like any other journo

i too hope she's got solid info and not just talking up some non-event .... cos the last thing rugby league needs is more journos trying to drag the game into the mud just for ratings/sales
