I heard a great one on JJJ yesterday.

Have an 'excuse registry'. When people want to take a day off work, for no other reason than being lazy bastards, they ring up a hotline, register, and then get the people on the other end to find if his best excuse is that he has a wedding to go to, a grandma's funeral, a sick relative or whatever, and they would keep a database of used excuses so you aren't caught out using the same excuse twice.
