I know sua said he'll move to the right but if our left side is firing then I hope we resist that change. Why change something that's dominant? I love the power overload on the left with Su'a, Suli, Rava. It's unique & gives us a real advantage over the opposition. Defences will need to possibly play an extra man on that side which would open up space for our right side attack with the likes of hunt, bird & lomax 1v1 with the opposition which is playing to their tackle breaking strength.
I expect our attack to be concentrating on our lethal left edge where its merciless and will persist there until we break them a couple of times - then expect Hunt to run numerous times near the line and score at least once then lastly young Flanno will target high kicks on the last to Lomaxs side where he will easily out jump opposition and at least score once .. there’s 4 tries right there!!

That sounds to me like playing on paper.

According to a Tele scribe our skipper, by name only., ''will inspire us against the Titans''. You could count on two hands the times he has inspired us over past six years, whereas the bloke who outplayed him comprehensively, Flanno Jr, inspired us in only his second game.
Wow Flanno Jr outplayed Hunt comprehensively? I must have missed the two first half tries Kyle scored with purely his own tenacity and skill.

Flanno has to pick the best 17 and put players in positions to have a winning team. Lomax on the wing for the time being is his best solution and also having Bird in that 17 as well. He knows that Lomax isn't totally happy with this arrangement but for the benefit on getting the team winning, Lomax has to be on the wing.

As I've said before, Flanno won't stand for us being bullied. Flanno will keep them all honest. The media, referees, officials, players, other clubs, the NRL. He didn't hesitate......."what, other clubs are talking to Lomax, we'll call the NRL and see what they have to say about it"....

Loved Flannos response.

We have to do the same on the field and not let the officials bully us

I thought we must have breached the rules a few times in the off-season but I guess guys like Woolford and Manu are only contracted for 2024.. AFB was released of his own accord.. Leilua I assume was released.. whether we spoke to him beforehand.. we will never know.... Marschke wasnt NRL contracted.. but he was probably contracted in some way.. Mariner I assume was shopped to us... Tuipulotu had 2yrs of contract left.. surely we were very much talking to him before he got his release.. certainly it was in the media for weeks.

I dunno I think the whole outrage over talking is a bit superficial.. its the rules and I understand the theory of why its a rule, but I think player managers and clubs are doing most of the leg work before they are technically allowed to be... im sure dollars come up also..

Hopefully Lomax gets a bit of time at fullback. He is our most creative player and could set up a lot of tries if he gets a lot of ball. I know he makes errors but they are because he tries so hard to set something up.

Lawrie out
Jdb to prop, for me he is a lock.
Eisenhuth to lock and Faltala Mariner in the 2nd row.
BMM in the 17.
Lawrie out.. no big loss in itself, I'm happy Liddle pulled through as that's who we needed most out of the injured pair. What concerns me though is that bench we now have as a result of Lawrie being out. It's atrocious. The only one that excites me is Fifita and he's a debutant so we can't expect too much from him. Our lack of depth is already being exposed in round 1..

JDB for me is a prop. When Sele is a couple games back and fit I'd actually like to see De Belin move to prop with Sele to lock, moving Lawrie to the bench. Possibly Eisenhuth could go to lock looking forward depending how he goes there tomorrow, which then means we could consider moving Sele and JDB into the prop rotation which really strengthens that position. My concern with Eisenhuth being moved from that edge though, is how much influence did he have over that edge, and more specifically Bird, in defence? Bird didn't really make any glaring defensive errors in the trials and come racing out of position. Eisenhuth may have helped with that. He definitely shored up that edge with his own defence and made me really confident every time the opposition's attack came that way.

Definitely wasnt expecting Eisunhuth to 13, but it gives us a way to get him and RFM into the starting side.

Also happy to see JDB @ prop, I think hes a prop anyway and it shields us a little from having both Sele & Lawrie out at the one time.. not really sure what to expect from Fifita, I know he looks the part but hes had 0 NRL games and really hasnt been called on for more than a few minutes of work at a time... very early days there.

Game day!
I’ve been quite confident all week about this week but woken up nervous.
I was pretty confident Warriors and Penrith would win too and look what happened there.
Anyway, we finally get a proper look at our new team, it’s an important day. We fans have been tortured for years by substandard performances, we deserve to have a team we can be proud of.
As someone said in the rumours thread, all the conjecture over Bird, Lomax, Sloan should be put aside now. Flanno will live or die by this team, it’s his team, he can and should do whatever he likes with the starting lineup.
Let’s go Dragons, we need a win here to get off on the right foot!
