I have backed Manly to score 90% or more of their tries off kicks

But alas the TAB were only paying $1.04 for that bet

I whacked a tenner on and will spend the 40c profit on a Freddo. Judging by Lyon's gut, lack of line breaking ability and speed I am not the only one who has been indulging in Freddos.

Manly are very similar to the pub pool player. Can beat the drunks in the pub when they bash it in of 45 cushions but when the class is there at season's end when the real pros are playing the 6 pocket theory doesn't seem to go too well

Manly are the real Pros that you talk about. They have always been real class, not the pretend stuff you talk about.

Orford does see to like the 45 cushion job

Kicks are 50/50 chances. Put in 10-15 a game, and the odds are that you will get 2-7 tries. There is no real effective defence for it.
Saying the kicking game is not effective is a bad, bad mistake.

The Legends match is about to get underway.
Narrabeen Sharks scored after a Cliffy Lyons with a cuttout pass that was given six to go before the fullback out sprinted a player who looks very much like former Bronco Michael Hancock. Im pretty sure its Hancock

Lyons is having fun with the cuttout passes, however he is missing a Craig Innes or Terry Hill at the moment.

The hands of Lyons' outside men are letting the Sharks down.

Try to the Narrabeen Sharks, dummy and inside ball from Cliff Lyons and the Sharks number seven went straight through.

Just about every ball put down by the Narrabeen Sharks has come from a Cliff Lyons pass, however there hasn't been anything wrong with his passes it simply that they guys around can't believe he could get away a pass that good. Its been a real trip back in time watching the maestro at work

Manly should be able to put up a good score here. I'm going 48-6. George Rose FTS:crazy: .

young Broncos putting in a good effort. No mistakes, solid defence but the small problem of creating tries hinders them.

Suprisingly enough Boyd has actually been one of our best.

Mick Roberts made a huge difference coming on, with our only decent attacking set coming off some of his darts out of dummyhalf. Defence has been exceptional, but we can't expect it to hold if we continue handing posession over as meekly as we have been (thanks largely to the boot of Perry).

Broncos are going well, like the look of Taylor for a 18 year old.

Manlys centre Neumann has looked solid so far but hard to get a good idea what he really is like as the Broncos backline is full of nobodys!!!!

`Eddie Charlton would have been proud'
`What snooker tricks will ordford try this time'

Seems Warren smith is onto the fact manly are a team whose sole method of attack is the Six Pocket theory. Eventually, like last year, Manly will get found out when you have to open teams up and can't rely on bombs, grubbers off posts and intercepts to score tries

Hmmm,

I think the Baby Broncos are really giving it to the Eagles tonight, although it wouldn't surprise me to see the Eagles run away with it come the second half, the fringes of the Broncos defence looks especially weak.

Boyd and Roberts have been our best with Taylor, Kenny and Carlaw also looking impressive. Kemp is having a mixed game.

And FFS someone tell Perry to pass the ball instead of kicking it! F**k it's pi**ing me off!

I think some promising signs coming out of this match. I just have to wonder when we're at the depths that we're at why we haven't seem more of Roberts, Kenny, Emmett and Kemp in first grade to name a few. It's not as if they've had players in stellar form in their respective positions holding them back.
