R11 vs Titans

we were very off today & easily our worst game of the year!

seems we thought it would be an easy two points & as it progressed, we'd eventually scrape a win again at the end but we deserved what we got - there can be no more excuses for us this year for losing games that we should've won.

it's easy to make Peachey the scapegoat but everything leading up to that point deserves higher criticism. how we didnt just set up for the field goal was unforgivable - game management very poor again.

the only positive i can see from today is that it reaffirms to Daley that perhaps our players aren't ready for that next step up just yet!

We are f**king useless. We are so poor in the opposition 20, it is a joke. And it is not the defence of the other side. We are just clueless and consistently make poor reads and f**k things up.

The problem is, we have a bunch of players who all want to basically just get to the line and look for an offload more often than not (Cartwright, Peachey, Segeyaro, Moylan, Hiku, Merrin, Latu), but we lack nippy support players that could take advantage of that (except Segeyaro, who has his own issues) and we find it very, very hard to just knuckle down for a set or two and hit the ball up hard and straight. Tie this to two aging halves, one of which has no creativity whatsoever, and a coach who has never shown any flair for attacking play, and you have a side that flatters to deceive - lots of surface level excitement, but not enough substance. So much of attack is static floating across field hoping something will magically open up, but most sides are well-drilled enough in defense to cope with that if you aren't going to hurt them physically by steamrolling them or do things quickly.

Layer the ball handling issues and the obvious mental fragility, and it is all a bit of a mess at the moment.

If Griffin can keep his eye off the "Most Offloads" table and focus on getting a bit more purpose and speed into our game, that would help.

With the Storm up next hoping that loss is a massive reality check. If we steal that 25-24, I reckon we get rolled by Melbourne. Hope that will spark something to be changed for that game but definitely not confident for it.

Segs is doing nothing for us.

Wallace needs to stay at 9.

We were really bad today. Hopefully the break is enough to knock this rubbish out of them!

We can make the 8 easily if we play well enough but unless we go into the finals having won 5 straight or something well be no chance of doing much unfortunately

Peachey just put his hands on his hips and left the ball there for the tits to score. Treated the team mates with contempt, what a poor attitude. Let him have a few games in reserves. Some of the team played poorly for sure, but the effort was there.

Cannot get over the lack of giving a damn by Peachey.

Tom.

What a garbage game, we were hell bent on losing from the start. The errors were unacceptable, none of the forwards were willing to do the tough stuff, apart from latu.

RCG started the year off running for 149m, 113m, 178m and 125m. Since then has only bettered 100m once, and is averaging 85m for the last 7 rounds. That's fu*king useless from your starting (and supposedly best) prop.

What about Cartwrights soft goal line defence....3 tries were scored by the Titans.

Yes he was very poor. And needs to go looking for openings more, run sideways more, his strong hit ups are good but he's more than that, and we need more than that.

I thought Seg was alright today. No one can look in the mirror & say they played well. Disgraceful in every way.

Some very dodgy ref calls & a 2 man bench at the end is no excuse for the shit dished up all game. Lots to work on over the week off.

Is he getting the same sort of game time?

Not a fan of Griffin's tactics. We need a stable spine, not chop and change during the game. Why is it needed? Simplify the game plan. Should have won that game, should have killed the Warriors by 20 last week as well.

He passed the ball today, and I think he offloaded once. One run there he made some good meters after contact. He ran a good decoy for Latu's try and was backing up well on a play but the ball didn't get to him. And he was only partially responsible in one of their tries. I'll take that game from RCG every week over what he usually dishes up.

Sam was very good in his first stint, good momentum off his hit ups, meters after contact, not getting wrestled out, good play the balls, one of the few worth feeding today. But Griffin played him too long, he was buggered not long after the first 20.

He had no choice, we had JFH, Hiku and I think RCG all out, Sam had to stay on.

Peachey is directly to blame for the last try, but Soward, Moylan, and Wallace are almost equally as culpable for the set that let up to that. A true leader would have got the player just going straight and safe, but we we biffed it around out of compulsion, couldn't get set up properly, and you saw what happened. It was RL 101 to set up for a field goal there, and every single supposed leader went missing.
