I would happily take Toovey, I know manly aren't going great either but at least he would absolutely shred the boys after a showing like that. I don't think he'd be afraid to drop underperformers as well.

Forget Houston, the fact that Leilua is still in first grade at the moment sums up how f**ked we are.

Personally rate Toovey. He was f**ked to begin with having to fix backended, front loaded contract mess Hasler created. At one stage he had both Foran and DCE resigned on fair coin but a new board came in and f**ked it up. He's being unfairly booted from Manly and deserves a considerable chance at another club.

But it won't happen. Club are going to stick by Stone regardless.

Our defence is unbelievably bad. It actually looked quite competent for the first few rounds and we were defending better than we had in a long time. What the f**k happened?

Boys, have you seen the Panthers cheerleaders? Go Penrith, long time supporter here.

Nah f**k it I'll go with Storm because I like how much they piss LU off.

Yep, that's what I'm most filthy about. During those first few rounds I said assuming everything is built upon, our defence would be a big part in a successful season; premierships come down to top attacking and defensive teams and the former would come in big wins here and there. Welp, how wrong was I...

It looks like they don't care.

Thurston and the Cowboys had a whinge about us being "too rough" we've been sorbent soft since

Joey better not comment on our effort today ... we tried but just had a few defensive lapses. He doesn't know what he's talking about and should focus on his job at Manly!

So what do we do with Sione for the rest of this season? He may end up in the centres or at fullback, but he shouldn't be playing there now. He needs to move back to the wing like he was last year and get more used to playing up to NRL standard each and every week.

It's hard to remember anything he has done the entire season so far that even remotely stands out- only him bumping off Thurston on the way to the tryline springs to mind. I feel like we are hampering his development by playing him at centre or fullback at this stage of his career and watching him get dominated (or at best playing a "solid" game) week in, week out.

Yeah he needs more time at winger. He'll develop into a fine centre, zero doubt about it, but the longer he stays there, the more time he spends "adjusting" to the NRL standard, the longer it takes for him to become comfortable in that position. It's not an easy position to play.

Thing is, Gagai has been a revelation at fullback and we can't seriously think of moving him. Yet, who do we move to centre? McManus COULD slot in there but I don't think it's the best idea.

I think Sione is playing on the wrong side of the field. He needs to be given Leilua's spot.

Sione is the least of our problems at the moment. Far more worried about BJ tbh.

I'm not saying he is a problem. But for a kid who is meant to be an integral part of our club for the next 10-15 years, his continual selection at centre sure as hell hasn't been doing him any favours this season. Prior to this round I was thinking of putting him on the wing instead of McManus, but Leilua's form of the last week or two is making that near impossible to do.
