I really didn't think Flanno would drop Sloan this week - it's fair enough though, Lawson was good on the weekend and happy he gets another crack. Happy that it's RFM and not Sele as well - Sele is a better player, but can use a little more time in NSW cup

Agreed. Also if he had picked Sele and we had an injury on an edge or centre we would have been very thin.

Sloan has to be hanging onto that wing spot by his fingernails. Comparing Sloan’s stats vs Lawson’s last game was like chalk and cheese. Sloan’s had enough chances and I‘ve tried my best to believe he’ll come good eventually. I like the kid. But I’d pick Lawson.

Just hope Flanagan swaps big Luch and RFM prior to kick off.
Big Luch is much better coming off the bench when teams are starting to tire.
Thinking his days of being in the top 13 are behind him.

Great team. Coudlnt really ask for more. Only changes i would make is to bring Leilua and JDB off the bench and start RFM and Lawrie, just think bringing those 2 on after 30min will really add punch, Knowing flanno he will prob do this anyway.

He should be contesting every bomb in attack and defence.
His build is not one for doing the hard yards imo.

It’s going to be a tough path back for Sloan from here. I expect that (and hope) Lawson continues to get better and still not sure how high his ceiling of potential is. And I expect CT will continue to provide strong runs out of defence and strong finishing.

I was a huge Sloan hopeful and have stuck up for him many times. But I’ve got to fess up and say I was wrong. He’s had 3 seasons of chances. Lawson was a better choice. It’s up to Sloan to go back and try and prove he’s an NRL player. I hope he does.

I think we all want Sloan to meet his potential, and we are all frustrated that he just cannot seem to improve at a reasonable rate. He is better than last year, he has improved, but it isn't enough to deny CT or Lawson.

I'm in the same boat as you 77. I'd like to think he is getting plenty of support and advice on what he needs to improve. He has speed to burn and a natural ability to get into the right position in attack but needs lots of improvement in taking high balls, positional defending skills and he is also lazy defending once the line is broken. The ball is on his court if he wants to be a top NRL player.

Stoked with retaining lawson & ct replacing sloan. Our backfield yardage game should be great, hopefully eases the pressure on middles for yardage carries & gives us better field position. I hope they can have a good block of games together. Happy for RFM to return, he had some good right edge games last season. I'm not confident about him playing quality 80mins on the edge though. Maybe Toby plays 20mins on each edge which gives both Luch & RFM 60mins of gametime.
