R15 Sun - Storm v Dragons *SPOILERS*

The bye has come at the right time for Storm...Folau and Johnson will be able to rest their injuries.

Newton and Cross were excellent today...strong yards made.

The only thing I would have liked to have seen was GI running at the line himself rather than popping a pass within 5 metres of the line.

Aubusson took a while to gel but once he got his attackign game right the team looked a lot more structured.

heh, personally thought they got their head back into the game after Simpkins gave them a gift 2 points and then gave them perfect field position to get their first try. After that they got back to their old selves. Favourite Simpkins moment was penalising Houston for Geyer holding his head. Nonetheless cant expect much more when our attack is struggling so much. Good game Melbourne didnt expect anything less. BTW seemed like everyone was getting injured today, wonder if the coldness of Melbourne has any affect
I'm sure Melbourne hate Simpkins just as much. Maybe he is trying to say sorry for last year. :?

Yeah Simpkins copped it from the word go.
Aubbusson was great as was Smith and Inglis. I dont think that there was that much between the sides but somehow Melbourne seem to rack up a score

This weekend has proved that Melbourne are certainly the real deal, Manly not so much.

Ok game from us, Adam Blair is going to be enormous for us when he finds his feet.

Its pretty obvious after the last 2 weeks that the key to our attack (and to Greg playing better at 5/8) is good EARLY ball from the half-back.

Special mention to Sam T. who has come back with point to prove after he was sent back to QLD Cup a month ago.

PS. Whats up with Aubasson and Turner getting points over Greg in the LU player ratings, sure he had a quiet first half but so did the other 2. In the 2nd half all our tries apart from Hoffmans where caused by the panic he caused the Dragons defence

I loved the pre-match entertainment when they announced the storm team of the century: Kimmoreley got the mother of all booings, it was piss-funny...

As for the game, Saints' right side defence was woeful - I think every Storm try acame down that side. Soward is either being coached to kick on every possesion or he is too kick-happy, I don't like it. Our halves are too small as a combination to compete in the NRL. The forwards are too one dimentional and with the exception of Creagh & Ryles there isn't much quality there.

Melbourne proved again why they deserve to be favourites for the Premiership. They were able to absorb the early pressure, pinpoint Saints' weakness and score at will. They're well drilled, patient and disciplined. They're the bizarro Saints...

But regardless of all that, the real reason we lost was because we didn't wear our Red Vees!!

He did take the line on.
