As was said not in the top 30

In a source of frustration for Bennett, in-form centre Kotoni Staggs will be on the interchange bench thanks to NRL laws denying him a start.

Staggs is not in the side's top 30 contracted players but has impressed enough to seemingly leapfrog fellow outside back Tom Opacic in the pecking order. NRL laws dictate that a player outside the top 30 contracted list cannot start if a suitable replacement is available.

Staggs was impressive in the starting side last week - a move granted thanks to the side's missing Origin stars - and has been given an exemption to play off the bench against the Warriors.
That is weird. They can have a contracted player, who is not in the top 30 named on the interchange bench, but, not start him? Strange. Thanks.

One thing that will be interesting to see is if Mansour’s positioning in defence has improved since the start of the season. In the first few games he played for us at the start of this year, we conceded a number of tries down his side of the field, when he either came in instead of staying on his man or didn’t slide properly. I remember Gus said that that it had been identified and they were working on it, so hopefully it is sorted. I worry, however, that the Boyd shift to centre has been designed in some way to exploit it.

Whare over Peachey will make a difference.

Agreed. I was a bit disappointed with Mansour's form early in the year. But now I've experienced the Chricton/Phillips show I'm happy to see him back.

Just want him getting through his usual workload. If he gets even close to that he will make a huge difference.

He was defending outside of Peachey and Maloney. The guys inside him were being destroyed. He was on a hiding to nothing.

If he is on the left still he will be outside Blake. Who is a very strong defender. Only potential issue is the combination being brand new.
