Saw his name in our NSW Cup line up for last match and because we have so many ring ins from Blacktown Workers this season, I guessed he might have been another one from there.

But, goodo. A new lower tier signing. Let's hope his shoulder continues to hold up from now on and he shows what he's learnt from the Storm system with mentoring from guys like Slater and Papenhuyzen.

Cheers

DOUBLE STANDARDS OVER LATRELL BAN INFURIATES RABBITOHS

No wonder the Rabbitohs are privately questioning why Isaah Yeo was not charged or sin binned for cracking Tom Trbojevic across the beak and drawing blood.

Yet Latrell Mitchell is facing a one to two game ban after he was sin binned for his tackle on Storm flyer Sua Fa’alogo.

I understand there was a lot of focus on Latrell’s tackle because it looked so spectacular.

But watch that in real speed and it’s the definition of a rugby league accident.

And the wet conditions contributed to this given Fa’alogo clearly slipped in the tackle and was less than a metre off the ground at the moment of impact.

Yet Yeo gets off with penalty sufficient.

Talk about double standards.

All the NRL needs to do is listen to Wayne Bennett.

And the tragedy of it all is that it’s such a simple fix if only they could bring themselves to listen to Bennett who has said previously he could fix this in an instant.

All they need to do is tell the Bunker to stay the hell out of the game except when reviewing try scoring plays or professional fouls.

Other than that, leave the punishment for so-called foul play to the match review committee (unless there is an obvious send-off). But just hold off on the rest until each tackle is properly reviewed the day after the game.

Is it really that hard?
Mitchell's tackle was late, clearly after the ball had been past, and it hit above the head.
Guilty, no matter what Yeo did.

Rumour around the Souths Camp is that Bennet is going to pull Mitchell in and tell him that he has 4-5 games to justify his pay package if not his going to ask him to reduce his salary for next year so Bennet can go hunting for some players.

Bennet isnt overly happy with Mitchells output either during games!!!

To be fair, the article didn't say he was not guilty. Said it was a "Rugby League accident" but main point is about double standards where for example the Yeo hit on Turbo gets nothing.

Wayne knows how to motivate players. Mitchell hasn't played anywhere near his potential yet this season.

Souths have also signed Tim Johanneson from the tigers a prop playing reserve grade.
This guy? Another lower tier addition then. Goodo. Thanks.

Interesting to see the team for this week considering so many options.

I expect Gray back to fullback at least for this week is a no brainer.

The halves is where it will be interesting. I would like to see Doddy get the number 7 jumper and a dead set real go to show what he's got. But I don't think he should be paired with Sullivan who for mine did too little last week as the starting 7. I'd peg Sully back to the bench and then it's who gets their turn in the 5/8 merry go round this week?

Does Schuster get a run at 6? He showed some classy touches at 5/8 in reggies for a couple of try assists and some classy cut out passes as well. Maybe it's the chance he's been waiting for and his match fitness must be getting better by now. The other option is shifting Jack to 6 but then we need to find another centre or winger.

Wayne actually played Campbell on the wing again to mark Coates with Tass inside him last week. I think if Wayne was to look at Jack in the 6, then Campbell back to right centre and Tass to left centre with the hope that we still have a winger up our sleeve?

AJ? No idea what's the go with his rib injury which he must have made worse a few weeks ago. BBH injured or does he get another game? He went off late. Myers? Mellars? Casey? This new kid Cudgeon? SOMEBODY!!!

Ridiculous rumour.
When a contract is signed, and a salary agreed upon, you can not, by law, say "You're not earning your money value, you need to drop your wages."

If Bennett or Souths are not happy, and don't think he is earning his pay packet, all they can do is tell him his contract won't be renewed when it expires, and explore a trade with another team if they wanna move off him before the expiry of that contract.

The NRL wouldn't accept it either.

Was reported that Turbo apparently offered to reduce his contract to help Manly retain DCE but that was nixed as not possible.

Exactly.
And that was supposedly "mutual agreement"
I certainly don't see Mitchell making such a magnanimous gesture, and even if he did, as you said, it would be blocked.
He just needs to pull his finger out, stay the f...k out of dummy half, stop offloading kick receptions as soon as he catches the ball, and RUN THE F...KING BALL HIMSELF.

Needs to do much less of the kicking too. He should only be our back up kicker but our halfback needs to do most of the kicking. That way Latrell can set himself to set up the attack more when we have field position.

Our halves can’t kick. Just like last year. Illas and Cody couldn’t kick it more than 30m. Trell has the biggest boot in the team. He needs to kick because we can make any run metres.
