Well Game Day is upon us. I finished work and got home very late last night but got up about 45mins ago and I’m up with a spring in my step despite how tired I am. Yes Game Day is upon us once more the sun is shining it’s a lovely winters day so all you Souths faithful get out to Accor. Many say we do not get day games well here we are so let’s all get out there and make it a very good atmosphere the boys need us and deserve the support undermanned and understrength they have been trying their fckin guts out! Every game is big but our next 4 weeks are a massive test up against all the top 4. We will be underdogs in every game but that doesn’t matter that’s how we like it and I think this season has shown anyone can beat anyone. We come into this 6 and 5 and as of today sit 9th. Win we go back to 6th lose we could end up 10th. Today is an enormous chance to go 7 and 5 at halfway the stage of the season and start our next run of 6 weeks of games before our next bye in style. The Wahs have been a bit off the last few weeks which I would say means they will be right on their game today so we have to be ready. Junior appreciation round as well so expect a good crowd today no excuses for there not to be.

Looking at the Warriors they come in 8 and 3 and off the back of a loss to Canberra. They are having a great season well coached big and strong and lots of skill and pace in the backs. Webster has done a great job with them. In the pack they have JFH and Barnett two of the best front rowers in the game and Erin Clark at lock has been one of the buys of the year I think. Add in Capewell and Niukore and some good young energy off the bench and they’re a very formidable pack. Metcalf and CHT have been on fire in the halves. Add in CNK, RTS and DWZ in the backs and you have a strong strong strong side. They deserve to be 3rd currently so it’s a massive task to knock them off. As I said they’ve been off the last few weeks but I do not expect that today. For us having Trell back up is big. Keaon we will need an enormous game from again in the middle as we will all our pack Arrow, Aitken, Hubner, Aitken then Tatola, Keppie off the bench etc. We need to match the Wahs in the middle as best we can to have any hope. Again completing our sets highly will be crucial. We will need Jamie and Sullivan to do their job in the halves too. Stopping those Wahs offloads and making sure our discipline is bang on too will be key. If we can go with them early we will have a chance but can’t afford any defensive lapses otherwise they’ll make us pay.

Well not long til the players make their way out onto Accor Stadium on this lovely Sunday afternoon what weather we have here for our junior appreciation round. Great to see so much young energy and the next generation South Sydney players all out here this afternoon. Let’s make sure we all make plenty of noise here for the full 80mins. Let’s hear that mighty South Sydney chant for the full 80mins here today and let’s be the extra man in the stands to get our boys home our boys in the Mighty Red and Green and get those 2 vital competitions points here this afternoon. Let’s make sure everyone watching at home knows this is South Sydney home turf and a South Sydney home game!

Ok as we look down the tunnel here at Accor Stadium we can see the boys from across the ditch making their way down the tunnel………. Rabbitoh members Rabbitohs supporters please give a warm South Sydney welcome to the New Zealand Warriors………….

The starters absence is starting to tell.
Where are these dudes? This game was highly winnable but critical errors by back-ups has been a disaster.
Starters absent for a month or 5 weeks is manageable but not for month after month. Its a killer.

An emotional Rabbitohs winger Alex Johnston has admitted he was “almost crying” during the game on Sunday after becoming the first player in the NRL era to score 200 tries.

“The crowd started going crazy and I’m not going to lie, I was almost tearing up,” he said.

Some tough decisions need to be made with this squad the people that thought we could be a top 5-6 team in this comp had rocks in their heads.

We don’t have size in the pack it’s a big issue. Week after week we struggle to get inside the opposition 20 as we do not make enough metres. We have poor line speed and on kick chase.

We must be the worst team in the comp defusing high balls and it’s getting worse.

We have a number of high paid players not performing. If we miss the 8 tough calls need to be made but issue is then you pay part of their deal to play elsewhere it ruins your cap.

What is the plan post Cody. I don’t think we have one. I am worried Cody is done.

What’s that for Sullivan 0 and 14 at starting 7 I don’t see what he offers at 7 I really don’t.

Some on Facebook etc bagging Trell wtf do they want him to do he’s doing the job of a 1 and 7.

Keaon also carrying our weak pack all on his own his workload isn’t sustainable.

I can’t see us beating Dogs or Storm but hope I’m wrong. Drop the next 2 our season is over.

Yes I agree Sullivan is not a 7. His constant dummy and run on every play he gets the ball is boring and predictable.

Hopefully Graham will be back to solidify our right side defence.
but who should be the winger? Tass or Munro… Tass better defender but slow, Munro has speed and flair but his defence is questionable

we missed grays speed and attacking prowess.

keppie was found wanting big time in this game. And was rightfully hooked for LeBlanc. He will be lucky to be chosen next week but again that will hurt our size.

At least we play the dogs without their origin players. But Koala may be in th extended squad and could also be missing for us

We are still paying the price for not looking after our champion halfback Reyno. It boils down to Karma, we are getting what we deserve. The best we can hope for is that the club has learned a very painful lesson and we don't repeat the same mistake again.

Your 100% correct, as ive said before we need to tap many on the shoulder, we missed out on that titans prop i was hoping we could get,the strong get stronger, weve no mongrel in our pack, even with murray ,who is a lightweight, we need big boppers, and yes cody should not be resigned, 700k to sit on the sidelines 85% of the time isnt smart, i wanted sandon smith, but no, then we bite the bullet and play jye, and really bud sulli is not tbe answer and should go back to the tigers.

Taylan May has completed a physical with the tigers and if there are no issues will join them on a train and trial contract. Apparently has told south’s already it’s a No from him
