Sam's hit on Moylan was grubby, reckless and I'm not against him or anyone else being banned for it. He really needs to get that junk out of his game.
The NRL needs to protect the head and allowing anyone off for a shot like that is going backwards. There is too much information on the lasting effects of concussion now to simply pass it off as being a mistake.
The onus should be on the player committing the tackle to hit the opponent below the neck. Rushing in with a swinging arm is reckless and shows a complete lack of care for the opponents well-being.
If it was Fifita hitting Doueihi we would be up in arms about it if he was let off.

Yeeehaaa!!! Friggin awesome news and I can't quite believe he got off!! I mean, I always thought that it was worth a grade 1 and a grade 2 was way too excessive but knowing what the NRL was like, I thought there was no way it'd get downgraded! But thankfully for us, it has been!! Common sense prevails for once!

I simply cannot believe the way people are carrying on about this, it's crazy!! There's no way it's a grade 2 when you compare it to other incidents in the past that have been a grade 1. For once, the NRL shows consistency yet people still complain?! Just goes to show you that Sam is the most scrutinised player in the NRL. Any little thing people can pull him up on they will and it really annoys me.

Claiming that the tackle knocked Moylan out is bullshit because he passed the HIA so there is no evidence the concussion came from that play. It could have come later in the game for frick sake, who knows?! Plus, Sam's tackle had initial contact with the ball and then slipped up, no way it's worthy of a grade 2! The way people are carrying on is comical!!

Saw a Saints 2nd rower, maybe Tariq Simms put a stiff arm right on the chin of a Parramatta forward, stunned the eels guy (bald headed replacement) so that he didn't regain his feet for some time. No penalty, no 'put on report' just on with the game. Couldn't miss seeing it, it was a good old fashion stiff arm.

I agree with the judiciary, I think Moylan took a dive and should get an Emmy. If Burgess had given him a real one, Moylan would have woke up in casualty.

I heard Phil Gould make a point that Sam needs to lower his aim when going for a big shot and i agree. There's no need for him to put himself in a position where contact with an opponents head is a likely outcome.
He's only hitting blokes 20kg+ lighter than he is after all.

Not sure how true that is but if so, I'm not really sure how to feel about it.

So Sam's injury is a minor quad strain and he could be out for one to three weeks.

Burns' is a minor hamstring strain which shouldn't be long term but given his history, I doubt we'll rush him back.

Good that they're minor but it's still not what we need at this time of year and they're a big blow.
