Yep, that's why he's being punted.
Youve missed my point. The reason he's in nsw cup isnt his salary, its his attitude, so its likely that if he comes over his attitude will be still the same albiet at a cheaper cost to us. Is that clever recruitment?

I think it's unlikely his attitude will continue here. He thinks he's the top dog at tigers because he's been there that long and is a big name on club player. At Souths he's not got that weight to throw about.
I still don't want him or think it's very good recruitment though.

It's a black day for Souths, the day Souths buy the Farrah sort of footballer, I thought the Stewart purchase was iffy but this stinks = time for Maguire to return to England with all the other has beens. I know he thought he could be like Bellamy and turn no name guys into first graders but Maguire has failed dismally with any player who wasn't world class.
Just look at the guys he's bought and we all scratched our heads thinking whats he see in this gut only for the guy to fail dismally.

How long before Maguire's contract is up because he's passed his skill level and it's time to go

Hey guys, Knights fan here.

James Hooper reporting that you guys have signed Robbie Rochow on a one-year deal for 2017.

Obviously yet to be confirmed, but if it is true then you have got yourselves a very solid first grade forward. Last two years he has only played 13 games because he has been unlucky with injuries but if he stays fit he will be good for you guys.

New club, new people, he'll be a few rungs down the ladder of seniority at Souths so he shouldn't cause too many problems.

Thanks for the info, a one year deal is strange though.

The one year deal is because he's got massive injury problems. As I mentioned he's only played 13 games in the last two seasons, and when he first came to the Knights we were warned he had back problems.

Knights were only offering him a one year deal as well. If he gets another bad injury next year you'd have to think he'd be close to calling it quits on his career. It's low risk high reward signing for you guys, because if he stays fit he will be very good, if he doesn't then it's only for one year.

I'd say the one year deal would be due to his injury problems of late.
I think if it's true it's a great signing. We have gone through long periods of the year with zero depth, now we go into 2017 with Sutton, turner and rochow who are experienced and chricton and Gosiewski have a year under the belt.
The only thing that mighy worry people is a lack of run metres. At newcastle, especially over the last few seasons, he has been the senior forward and has been playing more towards the middle meaningbhe has had high stats due to a high work load. At souths he is more likely to be stuck on the edge and do his role in Maguire's systems, where 2nd rowers rarely run over 100m a game, and just focus on running at holed and set plays. He was good in this role during Bennetts time at the knights

not really because he is already 32 and wests tigers would only pay most of his contract for the 1 year. if we get him for only $200,000, and wests tigers pay the rest (around $750,000) then we are getting a bargain and wests tigers are starting the season with a squad worth $750,000 less than every other club - big disadvantage. it seems unbelievable that wests tigers would do that, but it looks like it could be happening o_O

edit.. oh you were talking about the other Robbie, lol

Lol, alien you've got your Robbie's mixed up, it's a one year deal for Robbie Rochow and a two year deal for Robbie Farah if it eventuates.

So Inglis' contract runs out at the end of the 2017 season, right? Do you guys think we should re-sign him, or use the money he is on, to sign other players, or player. Tedesco is coming off contract at the end of the 2017 season too. Maybe it will come down to how Inglis' knee holds up.
