2 more games to go!

This is getting exciting!

Hopefully we can stay motivated and win well against the Doggies and the Knights!

We have massively overachieved in most peoples expectations and have had a great year. This is a chance though and we should show no mercy. Leesssgooo
I wouldn’t say massively

Cowboys have massively over achieved. Most had them for spoon or bottom 4.

Almost everyone had Sharks in the 8 and around 5 to 6, and we are about 3 wins above that.

I put a futures bet on in the off season for us to make top 4 and that paid $12

1. Storm
2. Sharks
3. Roosters
4. Eels
5. Panthers
6. Rabbits
7. Titans
8. Manly
9. Raiders
10. Bulldogs
11. Knights
12. Dragons
13. Broncos
14. Warriors
15. Cowboys
16. Tigers

I’m very confident of the top 5 (though not the order), think teams 6-12 are interchangeable, Broncos will be the best of the rabble, but bottom 3 could end up equal spooners.

Few call outs for me;
- Manly will be nowhere near as good. Tom can’t be as good again, and they’re bottom 4 fodder if he gets hurt.
- Panthers will struggle as defending premiers and have lost some important depth - Origin time or injuries will sting
- Rabbits will struggle but still be better than most of middle teams
- Tigers/Cows will have same issues as each other. Expensive, ineffective 7’s, and coaches who team don’t buy into
- Eels will bottle it
Excuse me sir….

Not so confident in the order, but confident the top 5 will consist of those teams. I may be being slightly optimistic of the Sharks chances, but I’m confident they’re in for a good year - lots of expensive dead Woods moved on, had the makings of a decent squad anyway (if coached well). Easily the best recruitment in the Comp, and a highly rated coach - they’re in for a big year I reckon.
For the first time since 2017, I’ll be more surprised if they bomb than if they go on a roll and give the comp a real shake.
Followed by this when people began to ridicule me having us in 2nd and challenging for the big dance.

We dont need to win big. Just win and not cop injuries and suspensions. We can't make up the for and against in two games, just need to win both and hope Cows drop a game.

I am loving how we are playing this year and am excited for the finals but I think it will take an almighty effort for us to win the thing. We have a good squad, an excellent coach and a hunger and desire not seen since 2016 but I still think we lack the top line class players to pull something out of the hat when needed.

Panthers have Cleary, Storm have Munster, Roosters have Tedesco, Souths have Latrell - I think the winner will come from one of those four. Cows, Parra, us and Broncos have good players but none of the $1M class.

I can see us beating the Cows in Round 1 of the finals, especially if we play them at home. This will give us the week off but then it is all sudden death and I'd imagine we'd be playing one of Storm or Roosters and that will be vey tough.

My fingers are crossed, my hopes are high but I think we will just fall short.

If the Cows drop two games, and we win both of ours, there is a very good chance that the Storm finish third.
For us to progress it needs to be asked:
Who would you prefer to play in the first round of finals, the Cows in Townsville (where we beat them this year), or the Storm at the SFS, with them playing some outstanding footy?
I've omitted us playing the Cows at the SFS as that is obviously our preferred option.

Never ever occurred to me that Storm may finish 3rd if Cows drop a game.... but you are completely right...

That said I think the Roosters get over the Storm this week. The win over the Broncos may seem impressive, but remember that Broncos team also got rolled by the Tigers a couple weeks ago as well..... says a lot about where they are actually at.

My ideal scenario is the one you omitted BBB. It will be BWB in the new stadium and have 2016 vibes that we benefit from. If we got to week 3 I’d be super proud of the club. Anything from there is gravy.

So there will be a whole lot of cheering for the Roosters and Rabbits this week.
