I'd be much happier with Anderson. Not perfect, but at least he has some genuine success and consistency on the board.

Smith is still on the list. We were apporaching another Anderson (Daniel) but he rejected us before we could apporach him.

As many as 11 coaches will be discussed before the list is whittled down.

Canberra general manager Don Furner said the list was split into two groups: coaches with NRL experience, and those without.

The experienced list is understood to include Chris Anderson, Brian Smith and Peter Sharp.

Kevin Walters is among those on the novice list.

"I'm not sure whether they (the board) will come away and say that's who we want or they will say do some more research on it," Furner said.

"We're not in a hurry. Those that are available are those that are out there for the rest of the year."
