Are Wests, Parra and Easts bitching hypocritically about the Warriors being over the cap?

No....only your 2 bob outfit is....squealing like stuck pigs.
Karma....you losers lost Wiki, yet you cheat as well and still couldnt keep him....fkn pathetic really.

Interestingly enough the Raiders are one of only three clubs not to have been 'busted' for going over the cap (by any amount) since the formation of the NRL in 1998.

Ruben Wiki joined the Raiders in 1993, 3 years after the Raiders cap issue.

So how did we 'cheat as well' and 'still couldn't keep him' ???

Don't let lies get in the way of a good story, eh?

1990
$85,853.00 Raiders
$24,200.00 Wests
$39,000.000 Parramatta
$4,000.00 Easts

Source
True Blue - Ian Heads
Clouds of Dust, Buckets of Blood - Gary Lester

So this is saying that they did cheat in the year they won the premiership 1990.

Isn't Lowe talking about '91 when the Raiders knocked the Eagles out in the semis?
They got to keep their '90 trophy.

as said, our breach in 90 was a minor breach, one that is all to similar to ones incured by up to 5 clubs a season... the warriors and dogs systimatic cheating is in a whole other playing feild

So what was the breach in '91 that Lowe is referring to?

No, but you are bringing up a salary cap breach that happened 16 years ago, and the Raiders were not the only club to breach the salary cap. The Raiders were $85,853.00 over the cap, Wests were $24,200.00 over the cap, Parramatta were $39,000.000 over the cap and Easts were $4,000.00 over the cap. All substantially less then current breaches.

I’m not whinging about Rubin Wiki going to Warriors on inflated money. I would have liked him to stay.

Incentive contracts had forced Wests over their salary cap limit. They were fined $40,000 in 1991 by the NSW Rugby League and $100,000 in 1992. It was often difficult for some clubs to juggle the incentive payments and remain under the cap. The most sensible course was to omit them.

And the 1 mil was a potential rort, one that was avoided by releasing several high profile players and most of our squad taking pay cuts... in actual fact we couldnt get it down to a cap level but exceeded it by on 50-100k (reports vary)... a figure simiar to that which clubs exceed every year

so when the warriors start the season the under the cap by pay cuts they will be the same.

p.s. don't talk about your future coach like that haha

That's not the point. The point is that the Warriors allegedly attempted to cheat one of the leagues most fundamental rules.

IF they start the season under the cap... but my understanding is its allegedly been an ongoing thing over last year too, with Price and Wiki in particular? is this correct or is it for season 2006 only

I see no point in punishing the players(and almost guarenteeing they wont make the 8) for the mistakes of a pathetic management.
Steve Price, Ruben Wiki. Both are fantastic role models for the rest in the game and both deserve the chance to challange for the premiership.
I'm a Raiders fan and I miss Ruben as much as anyother. But what has happened here is a pathetic management has been let in charge. There has been no advantage to there cap rorting. They've shed more then enough players to make up for Ruben and Price and at this stage the NRL should step in and help rebuild the club.
Punishment will not solve anything.

Yes it will, it will show the other clubs the NRL won't tolerate outright cheating of one of the most important fundamental league rules. If they give them another slap on the wrist, like what happens every year when teams breach the cap, then clubs will continue to breach it with impunity.

------

Price has previously expressed an interest in sports administration but his agent George Mimis denied post-career employment was part of the inducement for him to switch from the Bulldogs at the end of 2004.

"In our discussions with the Dogs and Warriors ... we were talking about the prospect of employment post-retirement but at no point has Price been offered any guaranteed income or any formal role. There's no document guaranteeing him something," Mimis told The Daily Telegraph newspaper.

No formal offer to Price, you'd assume the same with Wiki.
