The only Raiders related story in the Canberra Times today was about Nathan Smith, 21, giving his mother, 39, away at her wedding, held on New Years Eve at the Catholic cathedral.

Well, Happy New Year to everyone!

Although I had a reasonably quiet one, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Rarely are you allowed to get drunk at work, but last night was an exception. From 11:55 to 12:10 the bar was closed, and we had 15 minutes to drink as much as we could. A couple of shots of sambucca, and 2 bottles of Bundy and Cola, which were on the house, is what I managed to down, and when u do that in about 10 minutes, well I certainly felt it. Fun times

All in all, wasn't a great night, but could have been a lot worse.

Hope you all had a great night though, and may 2005 bring you much happiness.

GO THE RAIDERS IN 2005!!!!!!!!!!!

ps. I am going to England this year, so I won't be able to attend any Raiders matches

I've got a job lined up at a sports radio ( www.talksport.co.uk ) which is why I'm going. I'm sure it will help my forum 7s career though :)

I'll try and get my fair share of Raiders stories in there if that's possible

After a bit of sleep I will now attempt to write a diary up of my night.

7pm Convince myself I'm not going out.
8pm Decide to go out after parents friends start arriving at the house.
10pm Arrive in town.
11pm Get into a club with a tshirt and basketball shoes on, no cover charge either.
11pm - 4am Drink.
11am Wake up at mates.

Thats pretty much it  .

Yeah I'm pretty excited about it. At first I guess I'll just be learning as much as i can. Then hopefully as time goes on, I'll get into some journalism stuff, which is what I've wanted to do since I was like 10.

I got the job through my Auntie and Uncle whom I'm staying with. The guy who owns this radio station is my Auntie's cousin. Just proves it's not what you know. But yeah it's gonna be good.

OK... I am officially now sick of arguing with those in the NRL forum on the subject of Superleague. And I am sick of my club and me being called scum.

Nope but I've heard, "beer before wine makes you feel fine. Wine before beer makes you feel queer" 8)

that's the opposite to what i heard #-o. i think if you have large amounts of both wine and beer you're asking for it. dunno why.

While on the topic of drinking..

#1 You lose arguments with inanimate objects.
#2 You have to hold onto the lawn to keep from falling off the earth.
#3 Job interfering with your drinking.
#4 Your doctor finds traces of blood in your alcohol stream.
#5 Career won't progress beyond Senator from Massachusetts.
#6 The back of your head keeps getting hit by the toilet seat.
#7 Sincerely believe alcohol to be the elusive 5th food group.
#8 24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case - coincidence?? - I think not!
#9 Two hands and just one mouth...now THAT'S a drinking problem!
#10 You can focus better with one eye closed.
#11 The parking lot seems to have moved while you were in the bar.
#12 You fall off the floor...
#13 Your twin sons are named Barley and Hops.
#14 Hey, 5 beers has just as many calories as a burger...screw dinner!
#15 Mosquitoes catch a buzz after attacking you.
#16 At AA meeting you begin: "Hi, my name is... uh..."
#17 Your idea of cutting back is less salt.
#18 You wake up in the bedroom, your underwear is in the bathroom, you fell asleep clothed...hmm.
#19 The whole bar says "Hi" when you come in...
#20 You think the Four Basic Food Groups are Caffeine, Nicotine, Alcohol, and Women.
#21 Every night you're beginning to find your roommate's cat more and more attractive.
#22 Roseanne looks good.
#23 Don't recognize wife unless seen through bottom of glass.
#24 That damned pink elephant followed me home again.
#25 Senators Kennedy and Packwood shake their heads when they walk past you.
#26 "I'm as jober as a sudge."
#27 You wake up in Korea in August and the last thing you remember is the Fourth of July party at the Halekulani in Honolulu.
#28 The shrubbery's drunk too from frequent watering.
