from the queensland tourism site:
Just 30 minutes from downtown Brisbane, Logan is Queensland's third largest city and one that is young, dynamic and booming with growth. Logan is a city full of vitality with a rich history and beautiful natural areas - a combination which has successfully created the best of urban and living. Home to 500 parks, the beautiful Logan River, five libraries, local art galleries and a world class University, is it any wonder Logan has become one of the fastest growing cities in Queensland?

and ipswich:
A thriving city in it's own right, Ipswich has much to offer you. Build it into your itinerary and you will be rewarded with an interesting mix of old world charm and modern city living.
For lovers of history, Ipswich is the ultimate heritage experience. As Queensland's oldest provincial city, Ipswich is renowned for its architectural, cultural and natural heritage, which is celebrated at the annual Ipswich Festival each April. It is an easy 45 minutes journey from downtown Brisbane by train, it's the perfect place for a day's adventure.

Same could be said for Parramatta or Campbelltown or Penrith yet they are still part of Sydney

Your going in circles mate

New Brisbane teams in the NRL should be as follows

Valleys
Wests Panthers
Wynnum
Redcliffe
Brothers
Souths
Logan City
Norths (could merge with the Bears)
Ipswich
Easts Tigers

Plus one from Wellington in NZ and one from Wellington in NSW (Imagine the rivalry):sarcasm:

Make the NRL a 28 team comp where everyone plays each other 5 times.

Wynnum v Redcliffe in the NRL Grand Final!!!!!

Bring it on!

Oh and btw,
Logan is part of Brisbane Greater Met Area so it can sometimes be classified as another city
Ipswich is as much a part of Brisbane as Geelong is a part of Melbourne
Toowoomba could NEVER support an NRL team (the Broncs had to hold up the Clydsdales for years before they eventually folded)

Also do you guys count Parra & Penrith as a part of Sydney?
Edit: Ipswich could easily have an NRL team

Brisbane City Council, Ipswich City Council, Logan City Council, Redland City Council and Moreton Bay Regional Council are all part of the greater Brisbane metro area ie: "Brisbane". Adding all of these local councils is how the ABS deals with the area and works out the population and all that.

Ipswich could easil

It'd be better to compare it to having a pro team in Townsville in 1995. Toowoomba would have a similar if not bigger population than Townsville had back then with the added bonus of having 3M people within a 2 hour drive. I've no doubt that someone like Michael Searle could set a pretty decent NRL outfit out there, drawing on support from the rest of South-East Queensland.

as lockyer once said, if st george can win 11 premierships with one raper imagine how many the logan city raiders can win.
What sort stupid statement is that?
What knowledge do you have of Logan. Are you one of the idiots that think Logan is only Woodrige. You sound like some pimple face rich kid that lives at home with mummy and daddy and would not know what goes on out side his own bedroom.

Well, I'm glad that is all sorted out.

Next time you Queenslanders bag Sydney, remember:

67k to an Origin match is pretty good, considering Sydney has inly 140 000 residents.

There is only 1 club in Sydney. clubs such as Souths, Malny, Saints, Parra etc are all expansion clubs outside of Sydney (as was the first expansion club, Newtown).

Happy?

um i never said parramatta, cronulla etc. werent part of sydney.

i said ipswich and logan werent part of brisbane.

and about the other remark i said, it was a joke. get over it ppl. logan does have its good parts, tho they are hard to find, but it has a heap of bad bits to it as well. and anyone who says differently is living in denial.

Logan is not a part of Brisbane. It's a different city, with a different level of government. Logan has its own identity. Do some research before claiming Ipswich and Logan are a part of Brisbane.

A different level of government, eh? Well that's it, its over then. Time to rewrite the stats books people, according to the logic of these blokes no city in Australia has over 1 million people, Brisbane is by far the largest city, if you live in Balmain you're not in Sydney and Canberra is over 4 times the size of Melbourne. Thanks for helping us see the light.

Interesting - that makes the Harbour Bridge and inter-city freeway.

so how come the Broncos ditched Brisbane for all those years? Does that mean in 1995 the Crushers were Brisbane's only side?
