Does anyone else think they will pick a left side player?

ramien, staggs, Lomax, chrickton, all right side
They won’t pick a guy in the wrong side for his debut, to mark up against gagai. Certainly not origin Gagai.

best and burton are left.

If turbo is out as well then Ramien is in with a better shout.
They will definitely go for left side player to replace Mitchell. As has been said, Crichton can play both sides and Burton is a left sided player. Both have played with Cleary and Luai so the combos work.

Best is miles off in my view. Lacks the smarts for the level.

Ramien, Staggs and Lomax are right side and none are really at the level consistently. Staggs has the game for Origin with his explosiveness but mentally he is not there at the moment. Needs to get out of Brisbane and go to better system to make the most of his potential.

Greg Alexander was just on the radio and basically stated that they will be choosing whom they feel is going the best at centre no matter what side they normally play, as Tommy Turbo can play either side and he will be picked.
So there ya go.

Edit: and Brandy was also just on that Back Page show stating the same thing, AND he actually did throw Ramiens name into the mix

Ramien has been close for a few years now in Blues world not forum world.. wouldn't be surprised to see him make it if his form holds up. Button will be hard to pick for Origin on his current form.. Fittler and Brandy's selection method does seem to be young, hyped, confident and in-form, so who knows..

If Turbo and Latrell stay out I'd be guessing Crichton left and Ramien right.. of Turbo's fit: Turbo right, Crichton left?

Lomax, Crichton, Staggs, Burton would all be ahead of him rightly or wrongly.

If Cook goes down I reckon Blayke is a massive chance. I reckon API would have his card marked no matter what they say publicly.

Nicho would be the perfect 14. But I reckon they’ll go Pap

Yes. Despite the way those "commentators" rave about Jesse in game, he hasn't rated mention amongst them all week.

He's in better form than all of them except Crichton IMO and I think he'll get the nod. Combinations and all that, you know

I have Nicho ahead on versatility. Does/Has Pap played anywhere other than fullback?

There is a big chance they go with Wighton though. They'll fit him in somewhere fo sho. Right centre or 14 I'd say

also remember that little halfback we had that got called up and threw 'just one goat' pass which Mango accepted with glee.

He (the No7) came back to the sharks a basket case

He went in as a basket case.

The absolute key to Ramien’s resurgence has been consistently giving him early ball.

Chad loved the inside pass to Nikora, which was so predictable that it failed 99 times out of 100.

You do realise they still do that right? Both sides of the field.

My original postulation was based on the Blues needing to find two centers - Turbo and 'Trell both injured.
If they only need one then I don't rate Jesse as a chance at all.

If they are looking for two though, I agree with Frenzy in that Jesse has been in way better form than any of the other contenders for right centre.

Lomax has been inconsistent at best, and playing in a well-beaten side each week. And Staggs has had one good outing. He's great with ball-in-hand but otherwise pretty much a liability.

Jesse's overall game could see him get the nod, should it come to that.

I also agree with @Frenzy. on the 14. Hynes gives way more options than Pap. For me, Pap either starts or misses out. Hynes can fit into anywhere in the backline, save wing (and he'd probably make a fair go of that). Pap is just a fullback.
