Night Nine

It could very well have been the end of things for the harried survivors, but one of their number went out of his way to deliver peace and bought them some time.

Not enough time, sadly, for one of their number. He and his news team found themselves under assault from a horde of angry Muslims. Tridents, chains, and kung fu were pitted against scimitars, AK47s, and suicide bombers.

When the smoke cleared, only one of their number emerged unscathed. The rest of the news team - Brick, Champ, and Brian - were dead.

Champ Kind is dead. He was Champ Kind, Town Aligned Sportscaster.

Brian Fantana is dead. He was Brian Fantana, Town Aligned Field Reporter.

Brick Tamland is dead. He was Brick Tamland, Town Aligned Functional genius/Weatherman.

Bodies and pieces of newsman and Muslim lay all around the Channel 4 truck the news team had been hunkered down in. Ron Burgundy surveyed the destruction and seethed with rage.

"By Odin's Raven!" he roared to the sky, "I will have my vengeance on whoever did this!"

Ron Burgundy is alive. He is Ron Burgundy, Town Aligned 70s Newsman.
