Remember Purtell wasn't even in the first grade squad and was considering options outside of football earlier this year! It's his rookie year and he's turned the corner after a strong game last night. He needs to get quicker but it's not out of the world to think that he can become another Joel Monaghan type player.

Graham is by far our best back and it's difficult to find faults in his game now that defensively he's safe. Zilly will become a Matt Bowen clone which is fine by me. Best's defense is concerning. Howell, i'm still undecided. Chalk is suffering from being shifted around too much but impressed with his hard running style.

milne is still young
has been playing abit of flegg this year
he and ale have gone off the boil this year
was hoping they'd come good under henry, but Ale is moving on and is not contracted. Milne still is and i think he has the talent to be a very good FG player. Definitely a future but its up to him to make it known

Milne looks to be back in the good books after his stint in Flegg. He has been back in PL the last month and playing better footy apparently. He is only 20 so still time for him to come good and he is under contract. Ale hasnt been re-signed I think.

Any word on Rothery?

on ale the guy has no options apparently... had a bit of a chat to him after our last home game and he has no idea what he is doing next year caus he hasnt tabled any offers from anyone... including the raiders.

i really think we should make him some kind of offer... he's worth keeping around IMO.

Agree, certainly worth one more year under a new coach. Hasn't reached his full potential and would hate to see him do it at another club. Capable IMO of replacing Mogg in starting side next year.

Nope, the club knows something here we don't, and, judging by the lack of offers from any other club, it seems to be widely known.

It's unproductive to speculate as to what the issue here is, but if it's personal problems or lack of motivation or whatever it would seem to explain the deafening silence on the recruitment front.

Considering how hot he was on the open market at the end of 2004 when we signed him, I'm stunned not one club will throw a bit of $$$ at him. Even if it is match payments.

me too
And i agree with souls
he wont be in our top 25 so it wont cost us anything, worth a year to see what he does under the new system and the motivation of playing for his career, if nothing comes of it then so be it, we can send him off next year knowing we did all we can for him.

he has the talent to be an absolute star, as said, i would hate to think that talent is going to be wasted, much prefer him to prosper at another club then see him waste his talent

rothery has been re-signed.

and i think we should hold onto ale if no one wants him. its not like we have anything to lose by keeping him.

exactly azz
nothing to lose, everything to gain

surprised with how low cronullas centre stocks are, they havnt tabled him an offer. Peewee Moke and Jermaine Ale were both tipped to be the next big centres a few years back, if they got the potential out of both they'd be laughing!

If we were to re-sign him, just how much time would he be spending with the new coach? At the moment he's a PL player with virtually no chance of making the leap into the top side, so how much time is he going to spend with Henry? From what I can see, it's up to him to make the improvement so as to be noticed by the head coach, not for Henry to ask him along.
