Tonight we seemed more on our game, the ball being spread wide thanks to Benji more controlled. I think Tim Moltzen in the number 1 was a good move. Also Blake Ayshford on fire again.

I have to give warps to Matt Groat, good to see him getting more minutes in first grade. He has been great in NYC and tonight getting us going forward.

Great to get a win. I have heard that the coaching staff rated both Woods and Groat above Fifita. I thing we have signed the right 2 out of those 3.

Was impressed with Groat's energy when he got on.

Overall much better than we've seen the last month or so, but remembering it was a team without JT or Scott so hopefully they use the game solely as a starting point for the rest of the season.

gee guys, having watched the game, if there was no scoreboard on the screen and you turn it on to watch at any time in the first 65 mins, you'd think Cowboys were winning easy.

Bowen was fantastic. Cowboys best player, just pipping Robert Lui who helped set up a few of their tries for them as well.

Individual performances were mostly not great but as a team were good.

They looked hungry, scramble was good, support play was good. 4-5 supporters when Moltzen made his break and the run down field for Ayshfords try were the little things that were non existent in weeks past.

Having said that we gave Bowen way too much field at the back and he hurt us, with a bit more luck he could of killed us.

I thought Farah had a good game, made many errors in the first half but looked more like Farah of old in the second and Groat and Woods look like excellent prospects.

I suppose the best thing to take out if that game is some confidence and Marshall and Lawrence will be better for the run.

6 tries to 4 and they missed three conversions, reminded me of the warriors game where we just got home and they missed 5 goals.
Completions much better, the wet weather helped imo is this regard....we needed to hold the ball and wet weather footy is what thats all about....need work on the defence, Lui is Sheens new Morris

sigh, I wish we had a full strength team but kudos to you blokes for playing what was in front of you. We were pretty rubbish at times, young Morgan isn't a 7's asshole, Parker Walshe in the Toyota cup is the one they needed to promote but they seem to be a bit reluctant to blood him. Terrible crowd tonight as well, in years gone by there would have been 20k there easy, everything social/fun up here this year has been faced with shithouse crowds, I have never seen this area so damn conservative and lacking enthusiasm. Yasi and the economic climate has really scared people away, I was more gutted with the turnout as apposed to the scoreline, IMO it was always on the cards.

it's all good mate, I call a spade a spade hey and tonight we were rubbish. All we had to do was be patient but they couldn't even do that, NQ reaped what they sowed. Could be an eye opener for them, could be the straw the break the you know what. We have some decent footballers in the team without the 2 bignames, but it's about time a few 'others' stood up and have taken account of themselves. Matty Bowens attacking kicks were akin to that of a pissed fan, f**k me they could have dragged me out of the stand and got the same friggin result.

lui was ribbish. Got in the way of a pass to cause the first turn over of the game. When defenind on the line he annoyingly defends the gap between 2 players and the opposition just stroll in. Kicked it dead in goal when we were starting to apply pressure, kicked it straight to bowen when they were pplying pressure. I want him gone.

I just watched the game a second time using the 2nd opportunity to look at several players in question here at the forum.

Lui- does not seem with it. Others vouch for his talent (potential / actual) and youth but I just dont see it displayed. He has had nearly 2 years now in the big boys game but has rarely really displayed anything except this is too much for me. How long do we have to keep up the experiment? Are we in for another John Morris'esque experience due to Teflons intransigence?

Fulton- a tryer but gee he gets dominated way too much now to be in the forwards. Definitely on the downhill slide but since he is staying wiht WT now for another 2(?) seasons what can we do with him? He may develop some versatility but it better be shown quick. Have to say WT should not have extended his contract- maybe they reinvigorate interest in ESL for him?

Ayshford, Marshall, Ellis & Farah - had good games.

We won the game. It wasnt fancy, definitley sloppiness still there but a win is a win and I hope we can build on this for the rest of the season. Common fellas.

Groat certainly looked much better than Fifita.

In the long term, I think we made the right call on this one.

I also missed the game, was the weather a factor?
What happened to Miller?

weather wasn't a factor. Ball control was pretty good, just too often we had no planned option at the end of a set. In the first half the ball was given to Lui too much at the end of a set and he didn't really know what to do half the time when in attacking zones. Instead of trying to create something, he just looked for Farah, Benji, Moltzen or one of the centres to figure out instead.

I think we had 8-10 errors for the game, 3 of them were from Lui

Moltzens game last night proved he is great when the chip stack is flush.

When the chips are down and the fancy play is not on all you are left with is a fullback who will let the ball bounce most of the time, refuses to kick return and will not support through the ruck unless Marshall is there

When will we learn to bomb?

That is one huge attacking weapon that is seemingly missing from our arsenal.

The little grubber through always seems to be our main kicking option when we're on the attack, I'd really like to see us mix it up a bit more.
