I actually think he's improved a lot this season and seems a bit faster and a touch better ball handling but id still rather Saab. I know Saab isn't ready but after a year of FG he might be ready for our new coach next season whoever that may be.
2020 is not going to be our year, so we should be doing all we can to setup a top 17 for 2021. That means giving some of our young guns time and experience in first grade:
  • Saab over Ravalawa on the right wing is a must.
  • Anyone of our right centres over Aitken is a must.
  • Williame over Lafai is a must.
  • Clune at 7 with Hunt at 9 until McInnes returns makes sense to me.
  • A backrow of Ford, T Sims and Frizell is probably our best combination.
  • A prop rotation of Vaughan, Merrin, Graham and Blacker would work until Kerr and K Sims return.
  • Britain should be our utility on the bench along with Host as the backrow replacement.

Slow, useless, liability in attack and defense. If they don’t sort it out we’ve come bottom 8. Aitken and him are the worst combo in the league.

The only question left is are either related to McGregor?
Become bottom 8? Wtf have you been watching the last 8 years?!?!

Thanks DS for those updates. IMO Rav (and JP) will need to show progression this season to justify further contract extensions. Short of that occurring I’m hoping to see selections based on form and to see more of Saab and if possible consideration given to promoting some of our other youngsters in Leui of a mini over haul from 2021.

I do note our wingers at present are disadvantaged in having poor service from the halves and centres. The wingers will have to do the simple things well until our game management and kick execution, improves. In fact those aspects of our game have often made everyone else’s job soo much harder.

This to me is spot on. It doesn't matter who our wingers are, or who we would recruit on big $$$ the fact is we have slow and poor service from our play makers and centres, well its all been said about them.
Someone commented that JP scoring 4 tries against reserve grade Knights was nothing, maybe so, but more interesting to me was the service he received, compare 1st half v 2nd half in that game, miles apart. Even in the CS you could see it as well.

...and if Rav keeps improving then perhaps a move to centre allowing Saab to come into the wing.

Williame and Rav could be a potential centre pairing once Lafai and Aitken fail as is inevitable.

At least until the Fegais' and SSE are ready...

Agree But Mary a very stubborn bugger.
He will go with Euan and Williame ( more likely to be lafai

Our wingers, and centres for that matter, are mostly bog average, that includes Periera, who is getting a lot of love for 4 gimme tries against a Knights reserve team.

We’d have nothin to lose in giving the Feagai brothers and Saab a full season. My backline would be Lomax, Feagai, Feagai, Wiliame, Saab. We’d struggle a bit with kick returns without the big blokes but the Feagai’s will continue to bulk up. They’re currently 96 and 98kg. Lomax looks a lot bigger this season too and Saab will continue to bulk up. Full season for the lot of them. They can’t do worse than what we’ve got.

Good idea but development players cannot play in the NRL to after June or if there's major injuries . They would have to be all upgraded before they could do that

id love to see Pereira pushed to reserves because we have 2 really good wingers.

BUT, JP makes the right decision, knows when to score and when to come in, returns the ball strongly, doesn’t end plays with mistakes often and tries twice as hard if he does. I don’t know salaries, but list management requires players like JP so you can afford the expensive players.
For now he is our #1 winger imho

Agreed but if there is any coaching sense I suspect he will not finish the year as our best.

Rava has been improving but he’s not a straight selection in any other team. We got the bad Fijian. Sivo anyone? I did like pereira but he doesn’t have super pace and is smaller than I would want. I think we should have bought a quality winger.

We lost many a game last year due to our inability to score/hold the ball. I don’t think things will change and hence we’re carrying 2 liabilities on one side. Lafai is up and down and in a contract year he will perform. Aitken and rava just are tragic and they are side by side.

Compounding that the fading form of aitken and his ‘blaming’ I’ve had enough off. He need to accountability for his slump in form over the last 1.5years.

If you all remember it was Mitchell vs Aitken for NSW centre and we know how that story went!

Was Roberts v Aitken actually. The selectors went the wrong way.

For once you are correct
The selectors had a real choice to pick the correct centres for NSW as Roberts is pretty ordinary so the final centre selection contest should have been Roberts v ABA and ABA would have been selected above Roberts.
Stupid selectors.
