A REAL professional sports commentator wouldve done his research, maybe ring the media manager at Wests, ask him how the player pronounces his name and then spends 5 or 10 freakin minutes practising it

What grinds my gears is he asks on air how to pronounce this poor blokes name, and continues to carry on like saying it is so hard. His job is to speak, use the english language to make the game more enjoyable yet he struggles to get the basics right and detracts from the match.

I hope the insensitive prick does choke on someone name. You don't go after someone family heritage or a collective group of nations for that matter. STFU and call the game like your paid to do.

Last night during the Dogs v Storm game he referred to sports which are played on AAMI stadium in Melbourne as 'rectangular sports'. Warren doesn't say this one anymore but he would never say when a player is tackled, they were 'put away'. What the hell does "five minutes in front of halftime" mean. Warren used to say that as well.

Yeah true mate. Not much rustles my jimmies in this world but when Ray carries on about Polynesian names it really bothers me. I think of the family sitting at home who proudly gave their son that name and are probably even prouder that he is playing on the biggest stage in rugby league...and then you get this old fool practically insulting them. Very poor form.

That sounds like the sort of thing Andrew Voss would do. I'm sure Voss watches every game every week (Rabs doesn't) and I reckon reads every word printed in the media. He doesn't f**k up names, rules, stats.

I hope Ray Hadley doesn't sneak up and king hit me for saying that.

It became obvious pretty quickly that Voss was putting 10x the effort into calling QLD Cup matches compared to Ray.

It's criminal Voss doesn't call more NRL games.
