Our back 3 were unreal, especially Milky and Edwards. Milky is a very clever player who I'm starting to warm to. Anthony Don with a bit more power. That barrage they absorbed in the last 10 minutes was superbly handled.

Our defense was (mostly) as good as our discipline was bad. Yes the ref was making shit up, but plays like Moses lifting and slamming on the neck in exactly the same way that Henry got binned/banned for was peak stupidity. We were very lucky to get away with 13 on the park there, which compensates for the barely existent penalties the ref was finding for us every other set. When a ref is in a mood like that you need to read the room and do better. f**k knows what we'll do if he gets a decent spell.

Happy for Sorro. Epic try saver. Talagi was mostly class, but he needs to know when to flick his off switch. That offload attempt after absorbing a full set on our line was really poor.

Real shame we went away from the Sommerton/Kenny dynamic we'd seen the past few weeks. My thoughts on what Schneider offers in the 14 (or basically anywhere) are well documented at this point.

Good to see us winning games on the back of defense again though. We absorbed quite a bit of pressure against some pretty fired up ex players. The bye very welcome.

The Warriors are tough as. Like Penrith early in our reign. We will do well to keep them below 40 with five players missing. They destroyed Cronulla and they were at home and at full strength.

I thought the same. I was cursing the ref for allowing Wests to lay on our players with no penalties then penalise us for the same thing. Very one sided. Do the West's ref payments come under the salary cap?

It is physically impossible for the origin players to back up in New Zealand a couple of days later with no direct flights. Ivan said as much tonight. He was as angry as I've ever seen him about the unfairness of it all.

Then a 5 day turn around to play the dogs. He was angry.

Whilst I agree a full strength Storm would be close to unstoppable you just don't know. If it's a wet game then it brings sides a lot closer to them.
But the other thing is injuries. Their whole spine have had there share of injuries. Wouldn't suprise me if one goes down long term. And if that happens it brings your Canberra, Dogs,Warriors,Brisbane into it.

Id need ti see more from the Panthers before I'd put them beside those teams. Id have them perhaps next with the Dolphins.

We are in a cost of living crisis. Belts have been tightened.
I'd almost rest a few players extra players on top of origin guys from going to NZ. Have them fresh for the Dogs game.

Alice is right. Ivan sad exactly what Alice said in the presser. It has nothing to do with Ivan resting them, it is purely about logistics of the travel involved. He can't play them even if he wants to. Ivan wasn't happy about the decision being taken out of the Clubs hands.

I wouldn't be suprised if they all back up. The reason why is. They have the BYE play 2 games and then the BYE again. So the origin players are still playing 4 games in the month.
