Well, it was a poor performance allround and we were dominated for about 60 minutes of the match. Lacking fitness and just poor defence doomed us as well as no possession at all throughout the match.
Positives:
Benji is back to his best and has looked to be the one of the most damaging players in the comp thus far.
Fitzhenry actually played well as made a few good scoots from dummy half and injected himself well.
Tuquri had a good game, he's a huge threat on the wing and solid in defense.
Keith was outstanding, a million offloads and an amazing workrate. He's looking a lot fitter and was the standout in a dominated pack.
Flanagan I thought played decently as well.
Robert Lui's injury - I know its poor form to label a player's injury a good thing, but as soon as he left the park and allowed Moltzen to shift to 7, we racked up 20 points in 20 minutes. I'm hoping all the best for him and it's not serious, but if we want to be competitive, Moltzen must be at half.
Fifita showed great signs when coming on and looked like a man amongst kids in our pack bar Galloway and Ellis.
Negatives:
Moltzen at fullback. It explains itself.
Lawrence had a poor game, well below his usual solid defence and offered up nothing in attack.
Farah had a shocking game by his standards as well.
The lack of fitness and the ability to tackle are two major concerns, the fact we'll have a short turn around against the ref boys next week is a big problem. We could be in some trouble.
Heighington is/was hopeless, he makes 20 runs for about 90m, he swerves backwards to run into markers for f**ks sake. If the man ran straight and at holes, he'd be a premier 2nd rower with that work rate. Also, he gives away dumb penalties which cancel out his tremendous work rate in defence. He really needs to pick up his act.
