Yeah give To'o 3 weeks, he needs it and it delays a decision on what to do with our backline. If the coaching staff reckon Yeo & Cleary and anyone else need a rest we should definitely do it now, hard to see a slip up if its just a couple guys at a time. I think the final game against the Dragons should be a full 17 training run

Glad the tigers had their win, now let's get back to business.

Every game in the run in is a danger game, while we are trending in the right direction we haven’t once put a side to the sword. I thought at HT against the Bunnies we were going to come out and put them away by a big margin but we were a tad lacklustre in the second period which was a shame because they were done basically. At some point we need a statement performance, an attacking masterclass, not just grinding out victories. Yes defence wins big games, but you still need to be capable of scoring points and we haven’t really put on a dominant performance in this most recent run of victories.

I’m not sure putting bad teams to the sword is really a prerequisite for our title run. We have three games going into the finals against the top 3, and we can start to turn it up then. Until that time, ticking off the wins comfortably makes sense.

And as an aside, the top 4’s form looks in an even worse place than us; at least we are winning games comfortably. Melbourne were outplayed by Manly, the Warriors and Dogs got very lucky, and even the Raiders weren’t convincing. Outside of Manly/Storm, none of those sides were playing genuine top 8 contenders.

shut down the left edge with YAM and we'll beat the Tigers - i must say Alamoti looked very comfortable in Right centre against the Bunnies.

Terrell looked very gassed in the last 10 - we should exploit that if they continue giving him 80 minutes

I'd rest Brian for Alamoti. Sensible choice.

Also consider resting Dylan again. I think Yeo/Cleary must play against Tigers. If you don't rest Dylan then do it the week after.

The club would obviously have all this mapped out already. Amazing we are in a position to be even contemplate this.

Six rounds was a long time ago.
The ladder doesn’t really matter until August. Truer words have never been spoken by Ivan.

We aren't making the top 4 and we shouldn't chase it. Would be 2020 all over again
Yeah extremely tough to close the gap from here. If the Wahs hadn’t pulled a rabbit out the hat with 2 seconds to go we may have had a chance. We certainly need to focus on having all of guns primed and fresh for a tilt at the title in 7 weeks time. We need to win 4 games in a row starting 12 September. We have the team to do it.

We usually have one of those wins a year though.

Last year we completely obliterated the Sharks in round 12. From that point on there was just a sense Penrith were reserving that form for later in the year.

Closest performance to that this year was our win against Brisbane. Probably an underrated win now. Brisbane were on fire early and we held our line well except for that odd Ben Hunt try. 5 unanswered tries to Penrith followed.

Tigers, Knights and Titans. Three teams that are on their knees and in total turmoil. Could get ugly for them.

The only thing we should be chasing is a home final in Week 1. Gives us at least a 6 day prep time, with no travel.

With 3 of the 4 teams in the Top 4 being interstate, we have an 87.5% chance of travelling in both Weeks 2 and 3.
Going 3 from 3 in finals footy, while flying in/out every week is a massive ask.
