Rd1 2022: Non Parra games

Ginnane said on his sportsbet podcast yesterday that Manly were more flat track bullies than Parramatta.

Said we always get a bad wrap but we beat storm twice last year and should have beat penrith twice.

While manly bashed up on weak teams and were 0-6 against last years top 4 teams.

It is round one but Penrith look impressive. Manly are not a bad side and what they did to them was blew them off the field without the games best player.

We are certainly a great squad but for how long remains to be seen. We could explode next season. At the same time we may prove we will have long term success.

What is clear is so much does come down to coaching and good juniors. Guys like Staines are no better then Russel. Tago is no better then Penisini. Luai and D.Brown are also about equal.
So it's good to see how they all progress moving forward.

Both sides in 2023 are going to lose so many good players.

Penriths defence was unbelievable. A continuation of line speed that surely pushes the boundary and that draging second effort slowing down the ruck and absolutely stifling any Manly go forward. I wouldnt be giving any discredit to the opposition last night. Its was all Penrith and how they are officiated.

Penrith are also prepared to attack on any tackle from anywhere on the field. Huge backline spread deep. They must be incredibly fit and structured. Highly impressive. The fill in half back looked fantastic.

In recent years they've established a pattern of one good year followed by a poor one. They were good last year. They only sucked early on without Trbojevic and then again in the finals.

We played like it was a semi final. Penrith just jogged around the park for a training run.
Plus Yeo,Edwards,JFH,Nathan,Martin didn't play. Very silly to read anything into trial.

Highly doubt it. Penrith where just to fit and fast. Manly could barely get out of their own half.
As good as Sullivan was his kicking game was poor compared to what Nathan would of dished out. Imo they hit 50

Exactly. Plus it was bucketing down. Trials only mean something when your side wins.
Otherwise it's seen as a training run.
