Nathan Brown assistant coach...
Knights win % 26% (94 games)
Warriors 32% (37 games)

Spare me...what a joke

But what's his percentage as an assistant coach 😂

Should get Jason Taylor as an assistant his win percentage must be pretty decent

I think Brown is there because a) he has the senior runs on the board b) he has a respectful working relationship with Ryles and c) he has a solid knowledge of the juniors coming through as he was part of that system which was so successful this year bringing kids through.

That doesn't mean he should hang around forever. He probably only has one more year in him.

Never rated Brown as a 1st grade coach so why would he make a good assistant coach?
I bet u Taylor is more astute and tactically better than Brown.
May not be everyone's cup of tea but has a sharp footy mind

I think we are better team with Carty and Matterson in the mix.
Giving NRL positions to 2 players that are flying in the face of everything Ryles is trying to build culture wise at the club just voids any progress on that front. Ryles is instilling club first culture - those 2 don’t buy into it. Rewarding that now tells all the juniors that Ryles ethos and vision is secondary to trying to chase a quick fix

Brown was good at coming in and cleaning th place up but then it took another coach to build the team up after he had left.

Dragons pre Wayne. Built a solid team.
Knights after Wayne but they still are a mess
Warriors after whoever and are starting to get good finally.

What is it with our shit line speed? Is it fitness or desire? It’s f**king awful. There is no chance it would be tolerated at a well run club.

Probably a bit of both, you can see the Dolphins picked up the pace when we lead 12-6, barely punched some holes in attacked and simply waited for them in defence.

Last night was like they went back to the same style, wingers, centres taking it up and getting dragged back 5-10 m. They looked gassed once they took the lead.

Phins energy levels rose in the last 5 mins and their line speed was unbelievable as they knew we were doing 1 out hit ups and numbering up on us and smashing us.
As soon as we played expansive we had them struggling to contain us...our own ineptness cost us.
Unable to complete because of panic, no patience and zero footy smarts is what cost us...sadly again

The anti-Iongi thoughts from Dave Mc is the most extraordinary thing I am taking away from this game
He is by FAR the most exciting player we have in the side right now and his potential is HUGE.

To say he has been ordinary is mind-boggling.

Lets hope Dave Mc is not charge of recruitment because he is a crap judge of talent. Wow!

Everyone can have their opinions, but doesn't mean their opinions have any merit. Some people believe the earth is flat, that is as stupid as thinking Iongi is ordinary .... okay maybe not :)

Looking at the team live at the ground side on last night its clear we have too many back rowers & not enough front rowers.

Ryles is looking at mobility but you still need punch in the middle.

Unless we get a penalty we can't get it out of over the 30m line in the grind.

Williams isnt a front rower, Guymer isnt anything atm not big enough for a middle or impactful enough on the edge.

I think all the talk about edge back rowers required has over shadowed the need for some boppers with some punch.

Our back 5 are useless in this regard as well.

JAC we have to accept isn't that player but his strengths are elsewhere with speed and we saw that numerous times last night.

Moses isnt 100% - Not goal kicking has bit us on the arse last night. Lomax solves that issue but its too little too late in a crucial tight game.

And you have to question why Moses should be picked for Origin he still doesn't look right with his movement across the park

100%. I get the tactics from Ryles using fast backrowers and not having slow props but you need blokes to punch the holes and get a good 10m or more from each hit up. How many times did Moses kick before 20m? It looked embarrassing.

I'm still confused as to what Williams has been brought to the side as, a backrower, light prop??. I dont think he played prop once at Cronulla.

Guymer and Katugoa dont offer much. Heck even Samrani was making much better ground.

I hope Moses isnt picked for Origin so he get more match fitness with Parra and not risk another injury in Origin, but all reports are saying him and Lomax are certainty to play, unless Moses has an absolute shocker against Newcastle and Luai has a blinder the next two games. To me I wouldnt risk blokes coming back from injury and rush them into Origin.

Lomax's goal kicking wouldve been handy last night. Im surprised Russell kicked that long range one but sprayed the other two.

He can play, but personally he think he is better than he is, try’s a lot of fancy crap that makes the team very vulnerable….stop reading the papers champ and play to ur current ability!!!!!

Agreed Wal, we were smashed up the guts all game. Besides the last 5 mins when we played some expansive football how many times did our forwards get us out of our own half without a piggyback?? Besides Paulo we had zero go forward before Morretti came on. The stats at HT showed we should of been well ahead instead we were lucky to be even.
I haven't looked at the stats.
I was at the game and I thought we never looked likely at any time except the end when it was panic stations.

There is too much left in the cap not to buy players.
Yes. Surely he has pushed out Matterson, Cartwright, Offahengau and Gutherson for a reason. Especially Matto and Cartwright. It's obvious our forward pack would be better with Matto in it. Probably Cartwright, too. I think we must have a pretty big signing or two on the horizon.

So lack of experienced players or experienced players lacking... or both.
Phins have been in the NRL for 3 years, have built a big, aggressive forward rotation and have fast, elusive and some elite players in the backs.

Compared to what we have built it’s light years apart.

That phrase, failure to recruit is recruiting to fail
