Souths CEO Blake Solly said his club always supported fan engagement, but the NRL on this occasion had failed to adequately consult the clubs before changing the post-game set-up.
“We are really supportive of the Magic Round and fan engagement generally, but our problem with this concept is that nobody discussed the idea with clubs or coaches,” Solly said.
“The proper process should have been the NRL go to the coaches and clubs first to explain why they believe this initiative is so important.
