Yes, it would appear defensively those around Moretti were doing heavy lifting to cover his miss percentage. This week at least. But imo it's not sustainable and Moretti has to lift his defensive game against better sides. It's okay, Hopgood has him covered.
Exactly this. I was in same position and have just rewatched whole game after reading this thread. Baffling. Was a good team performance and we are building nicely each week. What stands out for me is how we don’t just drop our heads when something goes against us…I’m sort of used to us dropping our bundle and getting run over by opposition. Attitude is way different and I’m really enjoying watching the brand of footy we are playing. It is an exciting time, enjoy it.So, I was out last night in the city and only got to watch bits and pieces on a tv in a pub.
Therefore today, I read through this thread first and then watched the game in full.
Geez a lot of you are sad sacks.
Our performance was very good.
Yes, the Knights were bad, but we never let them into the game. Our defence was excellent.
There was seriously so much good to take out of this game. The win will build our confidence.
And, Penisini wasn't as bad as some are making out. I certainly didn't see him drop the ball 5 times. Sure, he has to improve some of his basic skills like passing, but he is a strong runner and defender and deserves to stay in the starting lineup.
This was a really good team performance.
Are we still a bit rusty? Yes, of course.
But we are also so much better at getting basics right, and we are starting to play with some intensity, skill and hunger. Our attack is more organised and our defence is far more committed, despite the occasional lapse.
This is a work in progress; however, I am excited about the early signs of improvement under Ryles.
Hang in there and enjoy each week.
Yup just pay the transfer feeHe’s got a few errors around him. But JFC no reason to trade him. Re: Galvin we shouldn’t trade anyone.
Probably still missing their Bald hero.Wow, what are TCT posters upset about?
The only down sides really were Penisini's errors, a lack of turning our dominance into maximum possible points (but game was never in doubt, and only let one try in at the end), and the underlying sense that we can do better with a little more talent in the squad in future years (when our high paid Cup deadwood is off the cap).
Burn the stadium down!No your wrong. We were shit
Mobility in the middleI liked how when their attack spread the ball our defence moved and covered it. Haven’t seen that for a while
