Yeah i dont have any problem with them not calling that a shoulder charge. Sivo is fkn huge, gotta give em some chance to put a body on him without getting murdered

No freakin way. Why should any player have an unfair advantage over our players just because they are HUGE? That is the point of paying him to play for us. Due to his advantageous assets and abilities. Don't be ridiculous. Why bring him back to the herd?

If they can't tackle him legally, then good, we score and they lick their wounds. That is call professional sport. I never heard anything so ridiculous, a player or team should be ok with giving away their edge over an opponent?

Some of you people really don't think do you?

I don’t often agree with you Ram, it on this I do.
Reminds me of when Billy Slater was possibly going to miss the GF two years ago because of the blatant shoulder charge he committed trying to save a try.

Commentators: “He’s trying to stop a try there! What’s he supposed to do?”

How about try to tackle him legally. If you can’t, bad luck. You concede the try. I don’t see anyone letting Jamie Ainscough off the hook for smashing Craig Smith high in the 1999 GF because I mean what else is he supposed to do? He was trying to stop a try!

It astounds me how people don't like rules so they say, "ah it's ok if we break that one in this instance".

No it isn't. If you don't like the rule then lobby to change it if it means that much to you. If not, tough tities, live with it.

I don't think that a shoulder charge that is so innocuous and or reactive, should see a player miss a Rep, Semi or Grand Final though. That is way to harsh a penalty for such a low grade breach. If your next game/s are any of those types of games, then your suspension should be for your next regular season game. I think that that would be a fairer outcome and then you would see the review committee or suspension tribunal more likely to prosecute.

Maybe also if the player carrying the ball doesn't score due to it, they should be awarded a penalty try or if they did anyway it should be an 8 point try. That way it is still a deterrent in the game that is being currently played.

It's a dumb rule whether it's to stop a try or not. A shoulder charge that doesn't make contact with the head should be applauded, not penalised or suspended. Players are allowed to lead with the shoulder when running the ball, why is it more dangerous when defenders do it? In most cases it's for self preservation.

Because it has gone terribly wrong in the past and players have died. Is that good enough reason for you?
