Tonight showed the opposition backup half's father couldn't coach for shit.

We had a bunch of no names and inexperience put a experienced side to the sword with a FB on his day is the most devastating player on the planet.

Its the best regular season win we have had since 2009 under Daniel Anderson.

And it wasn't that we won it was the ruthlessness and professionalism we showed i haven't seen in a long time.

You are absolutely lying to yourself if you think we did t have any big wins under Arthur.

A good win for sure last night but a bit surprised by the sudden level of positivity in here.

Sure we beat Manly without Momax but they weren't at full strength, have been out of form of late and Turbo is about half the player he normally is.

Did we look better and are we on the improve? Yes and yes, but there is a long way to go with this team before we should be getting too excited.
We were missing Moses, Lomax, Penisini, Simonsson, Tuivaiti and Lane as well. It’s a great win for our baby Eels.

Anyone see the presser with Ryles and Junior??? What Ryles said about Junior was brilliant, they seem to have a pretty close bond in a short space of time.

I think some of the Bea Arthur crew are starting to realise how under coached we really were, i've heard Moses has said the same. Now we just need to get some of the Huggers on board.
I’m on board, merkin. But don’t pretend we’ve never played better than this, against a Manly side devoid of leadership and with half its pack missing.

Wow. Enjoy the win people. We had half the backline with a collective 25 games in first grade, a back up half and a number 9 who was on train and trial in the off season, a left edge forward who is super green and combinations are still forming. Is it that surprising that people are excited by the fact the boys won and won well without arguably our two most important players?
Tough crowd!

I think the pleasing thing is that we look like we’re building towards something instead of stagnating like we had the previous seasons. We all know the likes of Iongi, Smith, Papali’i, Kautoga and Samrani are going to get better. I couldn’t say that about a lot of players last season.

Ryles kept taking about green shoots in the pressers early on in the year. And some fans i think had no idea what he was talking about
Some fans think everything is about the former coach. In reality it's about the inexperienced players in the side, who should be expected to have more frequent good games and less frequent poor games, which is what is happening.

It's no different to the development of the young players brought into the team between 2014 and 2021:

Moeroa (brought into the team aged 18)
Gutherson (21)
Moses (22)
Kaufusi (18)
Mahoney (20)
Niukore (21)
Stone (21)
Drown (18)
Russell (19)
Penisini (18)
Papali'i (22)
