My birthday is on Saturday so i hope we don't get flogged next week. Otherwise it wont be a great day.

I have been excited for 9 months once the draw came out thinking its going to be a great birthday we are going to bash a depleted Manly at home without there stars now its possible we are going to be worse off then them.

Even the club were thinking the same way as they have organised old boys day next week and have a big celebration of the 1980s premiership teams.

I was originally going to be in the box next week but Dad has gone away so I upgraded & have taken his Cumberland lounge tickets for the game better seats there around halfway.
Another milestone game.

I am thankful i wasn't old enough to remember that game.

My first ever memory of the Eels was at the Double header at the olympic stadium opening when we played the Dragons the following year I think was 1999 sitting with Mum and Dad up the top behind the goal post.

I think i dodged a massive bullet and further PTSD not being old enough to remember 1998.
I was 17 or so when that game happened. Without exaggerating, I only managed to bring myself to watch the extended highlights of that game again in the last three or so years. PTSD inducing and probably cast a shadow on our club that we’ve been unable to shake ever since.

That could well be a stretch but that’s how it feels to me.

That isn't as easy to do when all of your success comes purely from the brilliance of the individual, whose brilliance is just simply impossible to replicate by a replacement.
The more brilliant players you have the less you are impacted by the loss of one of them. Do we really have a wealth of attacking stars that we can afford to lose one?

The Storm played two games without Munster this year and lost both of them. If you have brilliant players then you’re going to rely on them. If you have very few of these you’ll feel it when they’re out.

mitch needs to put the trick bag away today
if he tries to woo over the selectors by going for flashy low percentage plays instead of just kicking long and completing his sets he'll lose just ask nicho hynes
