The Tigers being a laughing stock every year is a wet dream for Parramatta

Keeps the media spotlight away from the joint. And also ensures a clear rival remains in a cesspit that Parra can take advantage off.

Any 11-12 year old fan who supports the Tigers could jump ship now and who could blame them.

They are a massive risk on losing a generation of supporters.

I think Brooks is probably worth what Manly paid him. With no other alternatives, I don’t know why they let him go.

A guy like Brayden Trindall is too good for reserve grade and will get limited opportunities at the Sharks. Can also play hooker. Would be good to target I think.

I think Ice was the wrong player to target. He’s never been known as a great defensive player.

They’ve got the bones of a decent side, but performances like last night aren’t going to help with recruitment.

I don’t think I’ve seen worse management than what they have. Saints are a close second. At least when we had something similar the muppets that ran the joint still loved the place to death. These guys seem more independently incompetent.

Yeah, though they didn’t end up conceding 74. Kulcha problems at the Tigers.
But still zero wife bashers or molesters....so there is that silver lining.

Who signed Api and Papalii? Madge signed Papa. Who was in charge when Api announced?
Bateman has been shithouse for you guys and Klemmer has been a plodder since he got to Newcastle.

edit: Api was signed in December 2021 (under Madge)
So under Sheens you have got no one decent but released Joffa and lost Brooks.

Glad you asked, Sheens was General manager of Football when all Api and Papalii were signed, signed under his managment.

Perfect examples DaveMc. Tigers sacked Lui and Musgrove plead not guilty and was found not guilty. As opposed to Parra who signed A'uva after he plead guilty to domestic violence and Parra played Edwards after he plead guilty to domestic violence. Glad you have distilled the difference in kulcha so perfectly, couldnt have said it better myself.

Im happy to debate Parra culture of employing self admitted wife bashers vs Tigers all day with you but Im sure it will get boring for others. Weird when you are a fan of a club that employed two after they admitted domestic violence that you want to talk kulcha after my club just got lapped by 74.

Musgrave went to the Tigers after earlier offending, and I think you’ve got Edwards the wrong way round - his offending happened while at Parra, and he was sacked by the club.

Either way, dickheads have unfortunately been at every club, ‘twas ever thus. My point is that the Tigers’ on-field kulcha is absolute rock bottom, and I take it from your other comments on this thread that you don’t disagree with that. And I guess it would be hard to when you’ve just had the worst loss in 88 years.

Talking 2023 Kultcha signing players who disrespect the club is bad Kultcha.

Then making them captain is terrible kultcha

Edwards wasn’t sacked by Parra after the DV charge, he was sacked after running from police at a traffic stop or something. The DV charge involved him pouring alcohol over his girlfriend’s head.

He is clearly a piece of shit and should’ve been sacked after taking a urine test for Kaysa.

However, do players who behave appallingly deserve at least the chance of rehabilitation? I believe so.

There was a period around that time where we had plenty of blokes on the books who were evidently not good guys. It had seemed that we were past that, which is what makes the Dylan Brown situation all the more disappointing.

Should they have a second chance and be allowed to prove themselves? I guess it’s a case by case thing, but broadly I agree that players shouldn’t be rubbed out for an individual indiscretion, depending on the severity of it. Having said that, it never ceased to amaze me how much stupid shit footballers get up to. How you can’t pull your head in when you have such an amazing privilege to be playing professional sports for significant money is beyond me.

Musgrave went to the Tigers after earlier offending,
Incorrect. Tigers signed Musgrove after he was charged with DV, plead not guilty, was found not guilty. See how that works?

Kenny Edwards plead guilty to DV, was convicted of DV and then after being convicted of DV was selected and played in another 27 games for Parramatta. Parramatta sacked him after running away from a roadside police check. DV is ok, running from a breathalyser is not OK at Parra. You really want to talk about this?

Of course Parramatta signed A'uva after a DV conviction.

Either way, dickheads have unfortunately been at every club, ‘twas ever thus.
IMO kulcha is at a minimum differentiating between your common garden variety RL dickhead and domestic violence or men who abuse women.

My point is that the Tigers’ on-field kulcha is absolute rock bottom, and I take it from your other comments on this thread that you don’t disagree with that. And I guess it would be hard to when you’ve just had the worst loss in 88 years.
That point is 100% correct and is unarguable.

DaveMc, unless you are 12yo, this isnt a "my club is better than yours and your clubs shit" discussion (from my POV). Of course my club are crap at the moment and Im not sure how they climb out, and your club is flying pretty good at the moment, last years GF and looking good for the 8. Im not throwing the kulcha thing around to tear down Parra to make me feel better about the Tiges. My original posting about "kulcha" was in the discussion about Dylan Brown and it was a genuine point tbh. I brought it up when someone was suggesting that Parra would sack him. If any club greenlights a career after admitted DV against women, they are not going to sack a very good 5/8 for what he has done and like it or not, that is the standard the club has set.

I'll help you out here to draw a line under the discussion. Tigers are shit. Better?

I agree with all of it. The only point I would make, which is a fine one, is that the administration at Parra is different now to when the likes of Edwards and Auvaa were around.

Are they likely to kick Brown now? I think not, but I don’t think that’s a reflection of a past standard being set; rather, it’s part and parcel of his status as a very good footballer who most clubs would prefer not to lose. It’s why Canberra sacked Steve Irwin instead of Todd Carney, and then when Canberra decided enough bad behaviour was enough and they turfed Carney, Dugan and Ferguson, they saw it was ultimately to the detriment of their own on-field performance. They then kept and re-signed Wighton following his indiscretions.

It’s a diabolical issue for clubs. Do you forego potential on-field success by sacking misbehaving players, when you know that absent NRL intervention by refusing to register subsequent playing contracts, they’re going to be picked up by another club and thrive as footballers? In the absence of uniform rules set by the NRL, it’s a dreadfully difficult issue.

It has made me queasy that Parra has had idiots in the team over the years. As I said in an earlier comment, it’s why the Brown thing is so disappointing, because I thought we were past it.

And that’s where Sheens should have stayed, General Manager
He should of stayed in England, the old merkin is senile. He was sacked over a decade ago for not having a clue. His record after leaving Canberra and half a season at the Tigers in 2005 is Steve Kearneyish. The idea to bring him back as coach is one or the more hair brained and embarrassing schemes i've ever seen in the game of RL.

When Buzz Rothfield says he came up with the Idea as Sheena as coach and Benji assistant for 2 years you know it's a bad idea...
